"This is the second time we’ve used Nick and his crew for flooring. Nick was very flexible from the start. My wife and I both work full time and we have young school aged kids so meeting with a contractor during regular business hours was nearly impossible to accomplish. On several occasions before we even officially began the project, Nick came over late after the kids were already in bed to discuss our plans and ideas for what we wanted done and to offer his opinions. We have always been impressed with Nick that he is not pushy or overly “salesy”, we definitely did not feel pressured to start the project until we were ready and convinced it was what we wanted to do. We had about 1,000 sq ft of flooring replaced this time around and it was very nice knowing that Nick and his crew were very conscious about the fact that we have young children and treated our house like their own and made sure there was nothing left that they could have injured themselves on. Heck, they even let our dog out and played with him a little bit each day because he’s not normally in his crate all day. The floors came out beautifully, we are so happy with the finished results. While it was not a cheap project, I believe the labor charged on top of the materials was very fair. I would highly recommend anyone use Nick’s Tile and More because you can truly tell they take pride in their work and care about the customer more than the paycheck."

"He did a very thorough inspection, and may have found the source of where mice may have been coming in. He also educated me on what was going on with my roof. He was very knowledgeable about potential problems. His background as a home inspector was very helpful. It was well worth the money spent"

"I got 3 quotes for work that needed to be done on the exterior of my home and took the middle quote. The company that was doing the job was doing a horrible job. New Star Construction was doing some other work in my neighborhood and they came to look at the job. I ended up having them come and fix the bad work from the previous company and I couldn't be happier. They did a great job and are such great people to work with. They are still calling me to follow up to make sure everything is ok."

"48Jewel Construction and remodeling had to gut and redo my fathers entire bathroom. The floor was rotted out due to poor seal on the toilet and over years of not being fixed. They put a sub flooring down and a new tiles down. They also installed all new plumbing, fixtures and tub, toilet and sink finishing with fresh paint and new lighting. What a wonderful job they did. My father was very pleased with the work.

"I had an appointment and had to leave home toward the end of the day. As he was likely to finish the job before I returned, I gave him a check for the balance due. When I got home that evening, it was obvious that he packed up and left as soon as I had gone, as no more work was done. I called immediately and received email promises to return but follow up phone calls were never responded to. That was early October and this is early April. Though some of the runoff from the roof has been diverted, large amounts of rainwater still pours down onto the rear door area.

"Actual installation took 1 day, but estimate, scheduling and final payment took almost 2 months. Gutter guards could not be installed as per factory instructions because of problems with existing drip rail, but were installed with modifications. New gutters tended to overflow where roof valley met gutter, but this was corrected later with the addition of valley splash shields. One unpleasant surprise was the subcontracting of gutter installation by a local company that we had had previous dealing with, who argued with us about desired modifications. However, Scott was very involved, and resolved all issues, including adjusting the price based on and quot;pain and sufferingand quot;. Scott was excellent and receptive to what we had to say, as well as being easy to get along with.
Suggestion to customers: specify work to be performed by their own crew, not sublet.

"We work closely with Jon Wilson and his team. I highly recommend Marketplace Homes!"
Stone homes offer exceptional longevity compared to conventional building methods. These structures resist fire, insects, and severe weather conditions that often damage standard construction. While initial construction costs may exceed those of building methods, stone homes require less frequent repairs and maintenance over their lifespan. Many historic stone structures have remained functional for centuries, demonstrating their remarkable durability and longevity. This extended lifespan can result in lower long-term ownership costs, despite the higher initial investment.
Stone construction provides natural temperature regulation through thermal mass, potentially reducing heating and cooling requirements. As a natural material, stone requires minimal processing compared to manufactured building products. However, quarrying operations can impact local ecosystems, and transporting heavy stone materials creates significant carbon emissions. Homeowners can minimize environmental impact by selecting locally sourced stone and incorporating recycled materials where possible. The exceptional longevity of stone structures often results in a favorable environmental assessment over their lifetime compared to buildings that require frequent replacement.
Stone construction progresses more slowly than standard building methods due to the meticulous nature of stonework. The process requires careful material selection, precise placement, and appropriate curing times for mortar. Weather conditions significantly impact the construction timeline, as masonry work often has to pause during unfavorable conditions. The specialized skills required and the limited availability of experienced stonemasons can also extend project schedules. Homeowners should plan for extended construction timelines when pursuing stone house projects.
Most stone house projects utilize construction financing that converts to permanent mortgages upon completion. While stone construction represents a premium building method, some lenders recognize the inherent value and durability these structures provide. Construction loans require detailed plans, specifications, and contractor estimates for approval. Some regions offer specialized programs for traditional building methods or energy-efficient construction that may apply to stone houses. Consulting with multiple lenders helps identify the most favorable financing options for your specific project.
