Comment: City nof San Bernardino, Need wheelchair ramp for 90 year old who lives in a mobile home. City requires 4 foot wide ramp with welded 1.25 iron pipe handrails and a six inch curb on both sides of a 48" 1.5 inch plywood ramp. Required drop is 1 inch for every 12" of ramp, start height at rear of existing wooden deck is 27", so 27 feet of 48" wide ramp is required to ground level. Space dictates only 21 feet of linear space, then a 60" wide platform to turn ramp 180 degrees then continue ramp to ground level. length of platform is 8 feet. (16 feet of ramp, Platform, then 11 more feet of ramp. This leaves the required 5 feet of space at the bottom to clear existing porch. Area under ramp position is a concrete patio, Ramp is required NOT to be permanent, because this is a mobile home community. Building permit required and Inspection by city on completion. Preapproval by Mobilehome community and city required before starting construction.
