Comment: After the heavy rains expereinced in I had some water come into the basement. We did not have any standing water in the basement, just the carpet is rather wet, especially along the western wall and the south eastern corner of the basement. The area around the pump station is the wettest. The carpet is drier now, but is starting to smell. I have had fans in the basement blowing all weekend fo dry it out, but that wont get rid of the mildewy smell from the wet parts of the carpet. The drywall around that box where the pump can be heard is wet. I think you may want to have that checked out. in the back of the house below the bay window, there is a pvc pipe coming out from the house that connects into the ground. Is that where the water is pumped.out? The sleeve connecting the pipe into the ground is ripped. the high ground your house is located on is advantageous. I saw a lot of ripped carpeting and trash for collection on the street this morning. The only other
