Comment: Due to settling of ground in south hills of Eugene, east foundation wall no longer touches the house. Since the early 1980s the east end of the house has been supported by poured concrete footings connected to floor joists by posts and shims. Under the bearing wall needs to be jacked up maybe ½" and shimmed. Also check under there for pests and dry rot.

Comment: House built in 1954. Water table is low to begin with. Bought the house 2 years ago. Had foundation lifted (jacked) to account for some settling a year ago. Crawl space cleaned and new vapor barrier put down at the same time. Recently noticed water pooling above new vapor barrier. There appears to be an existing French Drain system around parts of the house - but not sure.
