Comment: This is a vacation home. Present heat pump/air handler etc is 20 years old. Air conditioning was working fine until electrical storm knocked it out saturday night[08/25/2012]. Outside unit will still come on but circulating fan does not come on. Air handler is in crawl space and has some rust. System is 2 ton Rheem and could possibly be repared if parts can be obtained but cost to repair may not be justified due to age of system. If I have to replace the system I would like to upgrade to a 3 ton unit but I do not need a high effeciency unit due to limited use and a desire to keep the cost down.
