Comment: I recently (April 1) "moved out" of my parents house. I have a significant amount of things still there, and many things still in boxes and trash bags in my apartment. I have a 3 year old son, and my things are just in the way. I have always struggled with keeping things, or avoiding going through things. I am embarrassed to have friends or family in my apt, and don't want to ask for help with my mom's place either. My old room at my mom's still hasnt been cleared out, and I have been avoiding that as well. I watch a lot of the TV show "Hoarders" with a friend of mine, and while I joke with her and say I cant believe these people are like that, I am terrified that I will become one of them! I want to get a handle on this before it takes over all of my living space. Ive done ok keeping it to my bedroom for now, but it is encroaching on my dining room and bathroom now, and I just need to get it under control. I live in Ft Wayne (mom's is in SW Allen Co.).
