Project: Waterproof Inspection / Certification Service
If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never worked with such an unprofessional group of people in my entire life. When we first hired these guys in, they told us what we wanted to hear, they guaranteed their work, and everything else. They scraped down our basement walls and put a waterproof seal around it, because the walls were a yellow color from water stains. While the gentleman was working on the basement, the owner did not even stop by and check on his progress, or ask how he's doing. A few days later the water stains came back though the walls, as if he didn't even do anything to them. The gentleman who did the job, got paint on our washer and dryer doors and dripped the paint on the sides, the washer and dryer both are a new model, he covered and ruined our basement floors in paint, managed to cover the water line, the lines to the dryer, and got paint on our brand new glass block windows, which were not even installed more than a year ago. When he was "done" with his job, he left everything of his in our basement, along with the mess he made from scraping the walls. He left his cans of paint, all his supplies, and his Gatorade bottle on the top of our washer. I tried time and time again to call the "company" and try to explain to them what they did wrong, how they completely destroyed our basement. The owner claimed that "he (his employee) went above and beyond for you" and never wanted to hear what I had to say, and believed nothing but what his employee said. They constantly would call for their money, but never would make the time to come over and let us show them what they did wrong, or want to resolve this problem. When we did not answer the phone for any reason, they would call back under a blocked or unknown number, at all hours of the day, leaving voicemail's saying that an attorney would be contacted, threatening us, and when the phone was answered he would yell, argue, disrespecting us, accusing us of having "no intention" of paying them like the unprofessional business this "company" is. Despite the number of times we have tried to get in touch with them to try and have them come over to resolve the problem that they caused. My family and I decided to just pay them their money they wanted so we could just end our business with them, since it seemed like we were getting absolutely nowhere with the situation, and we were all tired of this. But of course, when we told them to pick up their money, that they so rightfully did not deserve, they were right there at 7:30AM to pick it up. When the owner did come to pick up his money, not even then did he ask if he could look at the basement to see what happened, or even offer to either schedule a date so they could inspect it, or offer to reduce the price for my inconvenience. We now have to backtrack, and try and find a company that can do what we wanted in the first place. Save your self and your family some headache, money, and time, and find a different, much better company than this one. It won't be very hard.

Response by Active Basement Waterproofing: thank you for taking the time to review our work.when ever you called us we came out and explained to you that your sewer is plugged and we were not hired to repair that, if you call a snake man like I told you your problems would be over, like you were told.because our warranty is the best in the state we always came out when we were called to explain the same thing to you

He's the only one who called me so he's the one I used. During the proposal he was telling me about the bucket and large rocks and the round drain cover and how the french drain would be right next to the building, and laying the plastic down, etc. Not all of that was on the proposal though, but that's what he was telling me they would do. When they guys were here working we had a small dispute about what David said and what was being done so they called him and David said he’d be right over, and he must have been close. I had to laugh, too, because he also said I told him my ground was sandy, which I never said and it certainly isn't. The 3 guys who actually did the work were great! Friendly, courteous and hard working. Bones told me he (Bones) has been doing this type of work for 20 years so I had to go with his suggestions over David’s because as I said, David can confuse you or he did me anyway. I suspect that what David charged me is above average costs. He said it was a 4-5 grand job but he charged me half that as a ‘deal’. Checking other sites, his price is way above average! But it's done now and I didn't do it and hopefully it will work the way they say it will. David and Bones both told me if it doesn't work the way they told me, Bones will come back and do it over again. Time will tell, like it always does. They installed a section of drain about 35' - 40' long to drain into a hole dug and filled with gravel rocks. They used the drain with the sock already on it and they did this install on 9/5/2016 in about 3 hours.

We had some cracks and an I-beam that were leaking. They patched the I-beam and put vinyl sheeting over the cracks that drain to the drain tiles in the floor. The owner is very friendly and eager to answer questions. The workers did everything promised. We are waiting for a good rain to see how this works. The only minor thing was that one of the workers replaced the outdoor hose they used in a jumbled manner on the hose hanger. I would have expected him to replace it as he found it.
Response by Active Basement Waterproofing: sorry about your hose if you had called me I would have came out to unjumble it most of all you have a dry basement now thank you
