Rudauskas, All Points Construction, Elizabeth, Colorado. Unprofessional,
shoddy workmanship, misrepresentation, failure to complete repairs.
Hired All Points to repair our deck Oct. 5, 2011. The work is still not
complete. The contract gave detail on payment schedule but Joe ended up
running out of money, unable to buy materials. After the deck was torn
up, we were forced to "float" him money to complete the job. The job
ended up costing us thousands more and with every item needing to be
fixed, another problem was "revealed" by Joe. The original estimate was
$7400. We ended up paying over $10,000. Joe knew we wanted to sell our
house and refused to finish unless we paid. He lies, makes excuses and
uses inferior materials whenever possible. The workmanship is sloppy and
unprofessional. We caught him trying to install a deck rail that was not
what we ordered - not even the same color. Other materials were also
inferior and we now have buckling and gaps. Joe says it was due to a hot
summer. The job was to take 2 weeks, but wasn't even near completion
after one month. He even went on vacation right after he tore out the
deck. We have been calling him for months. He won't return calls or
repair the damage he created. After threatening to file a complaint, he
showed up on 10/15/12. He made one repair and promised to be back later
in the week. We haven't seen him or heard from him. We feel that we have
been more than fair and extremely patient for over a year. We've been
trying to sell our house, but the shoddy workmanship on the deck has
been an issue with potential buyers. I believe this may be the same
business that used to be located in Glendale Heights, Illinois. Very
similar complaints from a customer in Plainville, IL. The public needs
to be warned about this disreputable contractor.
Response by All Points Construction and Remodeling:
When I contracted to repair the deck and replace the hand rail I quoted the decking to be approx. 200 len. ft. After we started we continued to find more rotted wood. Each time I went back to the home owner, showed them the problem and submitted a change order that was agreed to and signed. I never ran out of money, but it is my policy that when a change is made it is paid for at the time it is done.
The problem with the fascia on the east side is the wood is old and the screws don't hold like a new piece of wood. On the south side where the wood was replaced there is no buckling even though it gets the hottest sun all day long.
