American Dream was hired to provide a pre-inspection of my property so that we could proactively head off any inspection issues, like asbestos, knob-and-tube wiring, and termites. The American Dream inspector found none of them in his report. However, after subsequently going through two additional inspections with prospective buyers of the property, all of those big issues were found. In short, American Dream missed them allA Consequently, we were left scrambling to make the repairs at the eleventh hour, not to mention losing money on the deals -- if we had known earlier that the work needed to be done, then we could have had it taken care of it before receiving an offer and might have built into our asking price the cost to cover those repairs. What is most irritating about it all, is that the inspector boasted to me during the inspection of his many years of experience and how he finds things most other inspectors miss. Laughable.

Paul is professional. He and his men work hard, well prepared, and provide detailed and prompt reports. Paul also provides detailed explanation on those terminology. It is a pleasant experience working with him. I will strongly recommend Paul to my friends.

While Paul Frank might be very experienced in his field, our home inspection did not reflect that. He did perform a service, but a brief and very vague one. He did give us some constructive feedback regarding the home's furnace that would need replacing and some cracks in the hearth and foundation, but overall I found myself with so many questions that were left unanswered. I called him a few times after the inspection to ask questions and the answers I got were vague and nonchalant. Our attorney and realtor both feel that we can't use his report (which we can barely read) to request repairs or credits. We have to pay for another inspection.
Response by American Dream: This husband and wife team scheduled an Architect/Designer and a Contractor meeting at the same time as the inspection. Their time was 75% devoted to other activities than the Home Inspection.The questions I was asked afterward during the one phone call were devoted to items which are Not included in the home inspection. Attending the entire inspection yields greater understanding of the issues and allows ample time for appropriate questions. Although they were given a copy of the NJ Standards of practice for Licensed Home Inspectors spelling out that a Home Inspection is not exhaustive and is only a visual inspection it was not read.

Paul is very personable and very knowledgeable. He put in plain English all issues that were found in the house, but did not simply stop there. He continued on to explain the potential consequences of not repairing some of the issues and provided suggestions as to how to further improve the house. I would recommend Paul and his crew to anyone!
