Byron Bullock replied promptly to our request for a bid, told us exactly what we needed to hear to make an informed decision, then was on time and completed our project in half the time we expected it to take. He is now working on many other projects for us. He is a jewel.

Project: Hire a Handyman

Bullock's Carpentry installed a skylite for me on the 8th of October. This past week Atlanta Ga had a lot of rain. I lefted town on the morning of the rain. Returned last night and decovered half of my living flooring was wet. The inside of the skylite had paint peeling showing and a piece of the 2x4x10 wood looks wet. I calle Mr Bullock and advised me of this information. He advised me over the phone that the skylite wasnt leaking. We had a few words(at less I did) to express to him what I was seeing. He advised to come out he would charge me $85.00 and I advised his work should be guarranted. I will not use this service again.

Response by Bullock's Carpentry & Remodeling: All of the work that Bullock's Carpentry & Remodeling has preformed throughout the 30 years that we have been in business always has a guarantee. But in this case when I seen the roof that she wanted to install the new sky light. I told her that she needed a new roof installed because you could see from the street that the shingles were old and brittle and some were even missing you could clearly see. Where there are missing shingles and no felt paper on a roof water will come in. The bottom line is we installed new shingles around her new skylight. But she blamed us for her old roof leaks after her skylight was installed.

The quality of the work was average, though I paid an amount similar to larger, more professional companies. 1) He incorrectly drilled out my threshold and then woodglued it so it is locked permanently too high, so my front door is very hard to open and close. 2) he did not finish the baseboard work with a quarter-round, so it is incongruous with the adjacent wall. 3) he caused scratches and residual tiling compound dried to my deck, requiring me now to repaint that section of my deck. Byron was very professional in setting up the appointments, and did it in a timely way. He got the job done, but at a level not worth the price.

Response by Bullock's Carpentry & Remodeling: This job was done professionally to what was clearly outlined in the contract agreement. This customer said she was not satisfied with the work, But she never called our office to let us know about her complaint. But instead she put in a bad rating on our company. That was wrong. I called her to find out what I could do to make this right. But she was very rude. The bottom line is, We sent out special discount coupons to customers the following month and she felt like she payed to much for project the month before. But I was only hired because I was the lowest bidder for her project that month. Oh and she did tell me that and hung up.

AWESOME JOB!!! I am so please with the service that I got from Bullock's Carpentry & Remodeling. Byron is very knowledgable about the work that he is doing, he was on time which I always pay attention to. He came by and looked at the problem and gave me a GREAT price for the work that was needed. This is someone to keep on speed dial for all your small and large projects. I will keep him busy for a long time to come.

I talked with three other renovators about several projects I need done on my house. Far and away Byron was the best deal. He knows what he's doing and he is very reasonable in his charges. So far he's cut through an exterior wall and installed a door and steps. He worked quickly and did a really great job. I will definitely be calling him again!
