My Grandfather, Frank Burke, Sr. followed his father's footsteps in the plumbing business, working for Charles Barnes Company. The third generation of Burke plumbers was my father, Frank Burke, Jr. Now, the fourth generation is me, James Burke. I simply wanted to understand why my A/C unit was not cooling as expected on a hot day. Before I was educated by Jim on what the problem was and how it would be fixed and at what cost, I learned the bill for simply recharging the coolant was $538. The re-charge was also done without me having been apprised of the opportunity to use a sealant to help the system retain the coolant. After he added the coolant, 4 pounds, of which I had no idea, he told me a sealant was available as well at $200+ dollars. So, it was too late to use the sealant! A very frustrating and expensive experience for a simple recharge to the A/C unit
Response by Burke Plumbing and Heating, Inc.: It's impossible to give a quote on a ac system, number two your shrader valve was loose so we fixed that at no charge as well so there would not be any more refrigerant loss anymore. You have a old system. A sealer was mentioned at 135.00 with a die in the system not 200.00. We are very up front and unfortunately some customers are mad to put money into their ac systems it's not our fault it's lack of maintenance from the home owner.

Thanks to Eduardo and the rest of the team at Burke Plumbing and Heating for helping a couple of neurotic first time home buyers with a lack of hot water issue that became two visits and learning more than I ever wanted to know about tank-less heaters and thermostats. When we knew the issue was resolved and took the 1st long hot shower we owe you and appreciated your professionalism, knowledge, and transparent with what was happening , walking us step by step! We hopefully will not have to call you for awhile but if we do we look forward to working with you and the rest of the Burke team!
