I've recently worked with Charles Rabinovitch Architects. Charles combined two adjacent apartments for me, to create a spacious penthouse residence that overlooks Lincoln Center in Manhattan. What's really thrilling about the new space is that one would never have guessed it was once two apartments. The flow from room to room is so gracious. The apartment has a sophisticated urban feeling. Light floods in at the right places, but Charles also designed intimate private areas--a perfect balance. The attention to detail is evident in every room. Charles was a pleasure to work with and responsive to my suggestions. I highly recommend him.

Charles is polite to deal with but I would not recommend him to anyone else. He is very poor at responding to emails or phone calls. After nearly two years we had to go back to the drawing board as the original plans turned out to be impractical from structural perspective. Charles produced a new inital drawing in June with a promise of final new plans and also a plan for how we could get the project back on track. The new plans were supposed to be delivered in mid-July It is now November and we have not heard from him since July 6.

This was our first time using an architect for a major home remodel, but working with Charles, everything went smoothly. His professional manner is a great balance of realizing our vision, with offering his own design ideas and solutions. Charles not only solved some major layout difficulties to our satisfaction, but complimented that with an excellent attention to detail. His inspiration is felt everywhere we turn. Our master bathroom, with the copper slate floor and warm blown-glass lighting, is a relaxing, romantic sanctuary. He also insured that our custom built kitchen island, was properly functional in every way. Charles also proved to be a wealth of information regarding building surfaces, plumbing and electrical fixtures. Most important, he kept us from making short sighted mistakes that we probably would have regretted later. We would certainly look forward to the opportunity to work with him again.
