I am a vocational teacher and I developed a program to teach others in the trade on basic electricity, pool & spa repair.

How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because Friendly people and I enjoy helping customers learn more about water chemistry and how their equipment work.

I love working in Alameda and Contra Costa County because I enjoy the challenge in repairing spa and pool items.

We started in this industry in 1978.

Dave came out to my house to fix our spa that had been sitting all winter with no water, it was disgusting and dirty filled with leaves and debris. He was very professional and cleaned it out for us, (water was so nasty he joked with me and asked me to tell his wife he loved her if anything happened to him) took the pump with him to fix and told me he would be back in a few days. Dave came back to the house with the fixed product put it back together for us, and gave me an invaluable lesson on spa care. I have been caring for our spa since and I am no professional, but he set me up with the right tools to be successful. Thank you Dave!

Basically, Dave came over to the house, checked over the pool pump and told me that I needed new filters. He told me that he would get me a price on the filters. However, this was not the case. He simply arrived back with the filters, installed them, then charged me $15 per filter more than I could have paid on the internet - which translated into a 35% mark up on internet prices. He then charged me $150 for his time - for one hour of work. What is he, an attorney? I would not use this company again.

Called me immediately & we set up an appt. for the next day. He didn't show up (says he got my appt mixed up with another & went there instead). Came the next day & said the spa heater needed to be replaced ($100 charge to hear that). Told him I wanted the heater currently being used for this spa. He got a heater after almost 2 wks. About $700 for parts & labor. Haeter didn't work (he DID come back twice) & started talking about replacing pumps. I went online & in 5 minutes found the correct heater. Before I ordered it, he told me not to because he had fixed my original heater (why wasn't that an earlier solution?) He refunded about $300

D & M was quick to come out and look at my hot tub and all although the first attempt to fix it did not work, they were quick to come out again and resolve the issue, I would definitely recommend them.
