I never write critical reviews but this was an unusually bad experience. I set up an appointment to have a light switch replaced ( easy job) and to have a ceiling light fixture fixed. Two electricians arrived and went to work. A half hour later I was told that the ceiling light needed to have a whole new circuit replaced and they could offer me several different plans that ran from $300- $1500 . I was not asking for any plans but there was no option for that. when I asked if they could just fix it, he said they could if I agreed to a plan. I had never heard of thos before so I said no just please do the other jof of replacing a wall switch in the other room (unrelated to the ceiling light). He then said he would have to diagnose it and give me an estimate and then come back and charge me to fix it. I surely thought I didn't hear this correctly. He needed to diagnose and give an estimate on replacing a wall switch, something I have done myself many times but thought Id have him do it since he was there? That's right. Then I asked why they came ? He said I had already been charged $65 for him to come, diagnose, and give estimates, and then they would repair at the fee they give for the work? I could not believe this. I told them I didn't wish to go forward on any of this, and I thought the whole thing was unprofessional. He then asked me to sign that I had been charged for their visit and say I that was unwilling to do the work they were suggesting? Unwilling?? Seriously? I told them to please leave. He then said he felt badly that I was disappointed and that he would go ahead and replace the wall switch (I had the replacement part already). I actually appreciated this gesture and still cant figure out why he couldn't do that in the first place. Anyway, I thanked him in spite of this strange way to start electrical work, and he left. But then I tested the new wall switch and guess what, it does not work. Nope, not at all. He couldn't even correctly replace the wall switch. I now know what he did incorrectly and I can fix it myself . Ok,maybe this was a fluke and maybe all misunderstandings but please be ware. They charge you before they come not to do any work, but just to diagnose and give you an estimate ( most other local electricians give fee estimates). Then the will charge you to start the work if they have time or they will have to come back. And they might try to get you to buy into an unnecessary electrical coverage plan with them. I do not recommend these folks at all and hope you don't encounter these same difficulties
Response by FB Electrical Services, Inc.: Good Morning Charles, On behalf of the company?s owner we are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your recent experience with our company. We also appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback, whether that is negative or positive we use our customer?s feedback to improve all of our products and services. I would also like to take an opportunity to respond to your points. I am positive that you mis-understood when our front office explained our diagnostic fee to you. The $60 dollars that we charge is a diagnostic fee for the technicians to come out to your home with a fully stocked van, test, locate the source of the problem and they will then offer you a number of options on fixing that problem. Whichever options you chose whether it is the cheapest or the most expensive, the $60 diagnostic fee that you paid is applied towards your final bill, for instance if you chose the $300 option you would have only been asked to pay $240. I spoke with the technician and he confirms that he did reiterate this too you. We do offer free estimates but the difference is we send you a technician that is only able to give you just an estimate and start the work at a later date, when you contacted us, you expressed that you wanted us to complete the work on that day. I also spoke with Tim, who is a very thorough and professional technician, he states that he not only fixed the dimmer but he also tested it numerous times to ensure that it was working properly before leaving. The owners as well as management have a great deal of confidence in Tim and in the integrity of his work, we stand behind him 100%. In reference to our service plans, we offer the same plans to all of our customers, we give them the option of just dealing with the existing problem(s) or dealing with any other issues that we find in their homes that they may not even know existed thus making them aware of possible safety issues but also saving them money, time and giving them a longer more comprehensive warranty. That is what Tim offered you and you chose to only deal with the problem which is perfectly fine as well. This process is very similar to what a mechanic does; they don?t just look at the issue that you brought your car in for they will do a full diagnostic, tell you everything that is wrong and allow you to make an informed decision. Once our technician?s locate what is causing the issue, the work would have been immediately completed unless the job was bigger or more complicated than initially anticipated and in which case he still would have started the work and then scheduled a time that best fits your schedule to complete the job. I am confident that this issue was absolutely a fluke that I assume we could have been avoided if we had insured that you properly understood the process that we use. It is obvious that the management and ownership has exhausted a great deal of time and effort into making our company one of, if not the premier electrical services company in the Greater Boston area. Our other customers have reaffirmed this by using us time and time again as well as referring us to their friends and loved ones. We would like to take this opportunity to offer you a 10% discount on any future services so that we can prove to you that our service is above and beyond that of our competitions. Thank you for your feedback, Proprietor

I had new power output and coax cable drop installed high on wall behind my new tv, also 2 GFI outlets replaced. 4 pricing options bandaid, bronze, silver gold. I went for the cheapest, bandaid. Put on covers for boots so as not to drag mud into house. Worked quickly. Gave me a 1 hour window for arrive (between 8 and 9) arrived at 8:08, so very punctual and I missed very little work because of small time window which is preferred. The guys worked quietly even though I had kids running around yelling. Vacuumed up after working. I couldnt be happier with the service provided. My installers name was Tim he had an assistant but I didnt get his name. Its very hard to find good service at a reasonable price in the city ( I live in waltham ). In this case I am happy to recommend this service provider. In future any electrical work I need will be going to FB Electrical Services, Inc. The other contractors I called, 1 never returned call. The other asked me to text him as he was on the job, I didnt, never heard from him again. This place was much more professional, got a call to confirm appointment, narrow time window which is preferred, also a text day before hand reminding of appointment. Much more professional operation.

Project: Install Electrical Switches, Outlets, and Fixtures
F&B are professional from office thru installation. They call to confirm appointment and arrival time. They arrive on time and listen to the details of your project and offer options on completing. Price estimate is given before work begins. A pleasure to do business with. I have used F&B on two light installation projects for interior and exterior. Planning on working with them in the future.

After a storm, a large tree branch fell on the electric line and ripped the tube on the side of the house which connects the line to the meter box. FB responded quickly to my service request and did a highly professional job in repairing the damage, including following up to make sure that I contact my utility on some issue with the line (which is the utility's responsibility) that they have identified. I would highly recommend them for any future work.
