The first person that was supposed to give an estimate did not show up at all. The owner finally came and gave the estimate which I thought was reasonible. The installers were supposed to be there at 11:00, but didn't show up till 1:30. They were supposed to blow insulation and spray insulation in the attic, and were also supposed to go under the house to tighten up the sagging insulation, which they did not do. The owner called later to ask how they did. At that time I informed him of this and he said they would contact me that week to come back and finish the job. I have still not heard from them. The results were not as good as I hoped.

Their bid was lower than the others and more area was covered. They also made repairs to duct work at no extra charge. The job was completed quickly. My home energy cost improved about 15 percent last month.

I had to have them come back out and re-do the entire upstairs because it looked as if very little if any insulation had been blown into any of the holes. The owner, who was on-site, and I were both present when the downstairs was done but we both had to leave the premises before the upstairs was begun and a very shoddy job was done. I called that afternoon after I went back to check the job and it was over 2 weeks before they came back to complete it. The owner himself came out and completed the job which I appreciated. It was done to my satisfaction at that point.

Response by Gapfil Insulation, Inc.: The customer is correct when it comes to the foaming process. The machine had begun to run off ratio on the top floor. The crew did not notice, it usually takes several hours to notice an off ratio problem. As soon as the customer called I told her that I would take care of the issue,she was in the process of remodeling the entire home so we agreed to reschedule, since her home was in remodeling stage there was the impression that there was no rush on the job, she was also was pleasant and I was very surprised to receive this review.

They came the day after I submitted a requested to give an estimate and one week later installed the insulation at a cost a little lower than the estimate. They were very professional. I am pleased.

We set the installation for Monday Dec 13 at 9 AM. Thermax called on Thursday and told me that due to weather forecast of Snow they wanted to reschedule , I expected the worst..They wanted to install on Saturday , 2 days early!! WOW :-) Saturday 10 AM came and they were not there :( But at 10:10 AM they called and explained that on the pre-check they had found a mechanical problem and were just leaving to come my way, again WOW they called and they do pre-checks before they leave! Not only is my 1890's home warmer than it has ever been I found a contractor for my future needs. I would recommend Thermax Insulation to anyone.
