Project: Remodel a Kitchen

Gil Adelman came out to see the job, from the moment he walked in the house I felt relief, he walked me through all the mistakes that had been made to the cabinet that had been installed the water had to be redone the electric was a disaster. He explained what needed to be done to correct the all the errors. He let me know when he could start the job. He and his crew showed up exactly when he said, when I ask about the back wall also needing to be replaced he agreed and let me know that it wouldn't be a problem.Gil ran into a lot of problems , he fixed all of them with no complaints and with ease. If I ever have another remodeling job the first call I'll make will be to Gil Adelman, Contractors Inc. All my thanks for the hard work and excellent workmanship. Another plus is Gil and his crew where very clean and pet friendly,They all where very patient with my dog as she got in the middle of things. Your very satisfied customer, Ann Kaufman

We started with a half bath in a cape cod dormer with limited space to place a shower. Gils innovative ideas to expand the room and keep with the feel of the architecture were great! They moved the wall slightly into an adjoining bedroom to create space for a shower. The dormer ceiling was raised and Gil was able to keep the angles of the room ceiling. They moved the toilet and sink pipes to new locations. Gil and John were there every day at 7:00 am with the plan for the day. All along we were kept informed as to what was being done. When the inevitable challenges came up Gil was able to navigate us through them (supplies late from one supplier). During construction, Gil and John were unobtrusive to our family routines and kept the areas clean. They had to accommodate schedules over holidays for us, and for supplier delays. We have a wonderful room. The job was very professionally done. Both Gil and John take pride in their work and it shows. They are very trustworthy and we felt comfortable leaving them to work in our home. I would highly recommend.

Project: Remodel to Accommodate a Disability

Gil did a terrific job in remodeling existing space according to ADA guidelines. He accomplished this task while maintaining the integrity of the design of the rest of the house. Gil also was very accomodating of the homeowner and the 98 year old occupant of the new space who were present during the entire project. He minimized disruption to their routines which was very important to them. Gil met with us many times prior to signing the contract to ensure that he understood what we were looking for in this project and so that he could tell us what was needed to meet ADA and other building code requirements.

Horrible Experience! Can not recommend. He left the job in October 2009 PAID-IN-FULL but with known follow-ups. After failure to return, he was contacted repeatedly for 5 months, but refused to complete project or to correct identified issues. Did not finish project per specific items listed in signed contract. Left job without; new tub installed completely, without glass shower wall in place, new pocket door scraping on bent frame. Failed electrical code inspection for 9 issues. I had to hire a third party plumber and electrician to complete or fix issues, at my additional cost. 10 months later, project still unfinished.

Response by Gil Adelman Remodeling, Inc.: Customer ordered and paid for all fixtures, when tub was found to be formed wrong after install, they didn't want to pay us for our cost to re-install. Homeowner hired electrician to complete other work in home, he did not pull permits, our work passed inspection. Homeowner worked directly with granite company and shower glass company, these were not in our contract, so when something went wrong, they wanted us to fix it at our expense. We were paid in full because project was completed in full, only when problems came up with other subs that were not under our jurisdiction, we were called back. We came back but still we couldn't satisfy them

Gil did a first rate job from start to finish. We can not rave about him enough. He insisted on doing a job we would be proud to show friends and family and boy have they been impressed!!!! Along the way he gave us many excellent suggestion that we would not have considered on our own that turned out great. He was on time every day, was a very clean worker and his crew was excellent, professional, and a joy to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Gil to anyone.

Worked through any issues or challenges during the remodeling. Created and delivered on a great design. His small crew of guys were professional, pleasant, and trustworthy. I plan to hire Gil again to remodel a bathroom. He has my highest recommendation.

Everything went really well. Once they started work, they came everyday (early ;) until it was done. The inevitable hiccups along the way were all resolved immediately. And the end result is a beautiful bathroom. Very honest and forthright contractor!

Gil and John were both diligent and professional in their work. There were problems along the way that were not of Gil's control (supplier of cabinets and fixtures were the issues). Gil dealt with the problems in the best way he could and provided suggestions in helping sort out the issues but it did affect the timely completion of the job. My recommendation to anyone planning this type of project is to FOLLOW-UP with the suppliers regularly to ensure non interruption of the job. The final work and completion of the job were excellent and professionally done. We were happy with the final results and would certainly recommend Gil.
