We're gas installin'/ water heater guys. After 20 years of generating customers entirely through referrals, I thought I'd see what a little HomeAdvisor spot could do. Tim Hamblen was great to work with. We needed gas piping for a new dual fuel range we wanted to install during our kitchen remodel. The range and the gas hook-up weren't part of our original budget, and the budget was already tight. I had already gotten 2 proposals that were hundreds of dollars more than I could afford. I explained the situation to Tim, and he truly worked with me, helping to make this dream a reality. As the scheduled installation day approached, I realized that I was going to need an extra 24 hrs to be ready, and he worked with me on that, as well. SO HAPPY we went with Hamblen & Sons! Knowlegable, helpful and personable!

It was a pleasure to work with Hamblen and Sons from the intial contact to the technicians arrival and completion of the project. The mechanic was knowledgeable and helpful with the gas piping that was required and the installation and working of the appliance. I would recommend Hamblen and Sons heating for your next project.

What a great experience! Tim did a great job of walking me through the bid over the phone. When Drew came to do the actual work, he made me feel very comfortable by explaining exactly what my options were, what work would be done, and he delivered with beautiful work. And, the topper was the work came in UNDER the actual bid. Thanks very much Tim and Drew. Looking forward to grilling year round and never having to worry about running out of propane!

Response by Hamblen & Sons Heating: Mr. Rob, To eliminate 'price surprises', I account for the worst case scenario when I provide quotes, which frequently results in a 'reduced invoice' like you experienced. Over the years we've found NO one ever complains when the price goes down... NO price mysteries is one of the reasons we consistently receive "5 STAR" ratings. "No worries" is a good thing. I previously gave a raving 5-star review that unfortunately I have to take back due to several issues. First, the gas pipe was installed too high, but after I told Tim, Drew came and fixed it. They are nice folks. However, we started to notice the burners are weak, which is especially apparent when we started using the oven. I consulted Tim, who said it is a product issue, so I made a service call. The technician came and found out that the gas valve was barely on - an install issue - I was charged $104+. Tim never get back to me. For that I have to cut my previous 5-star rating in half.

Response by Hamblen & Sons Heating: Mr. Franky, I've been installing w/ my son Drew for over 2 decades. We don't 'just' randomly pick a location for the gas line penetration. We located the gas line termination based upon the information you provided us. As a courtesy we made a return trip to alter the gas line... for NO fee. At that time Drew tested all your range burners. I can't account for the 'magical' change in burn pattern. All that said, now you're trying to hold us hostage, "Pay the service bill or you'll reduce your positive rating." What you are asking... I'm not willing to do. I won't buy your "5 STAR" review. I'm sorry. Tim
