Review by a homeowner in Dallas, TX
Don't believe anything he says Jack - did not deliver the project on time as promised. Up charged for every minor request - project was 100% over his estimated budget. Had to fire him before the work was completed. Found out that he did not pay his subcontractors. had to hire an attorney to remove liens that were placed on house by subs that Jack did not pay -- do not trust this guy.
Response by Home Solutions: The internet is amazing allowing misinformation to enter into someones business, good and bad. This particular client's project was completely over budget from the first day we started. What (consumer name withheld per their request)fails to mention is that we were tasked with the job of completely remodeling interior and exterior of a 4,000 sq. ft. house in two months, very aggressive but possible. He increased his budget by over $60k in the first week and continued there after. He ordered additional work at the end of the project and had already been behind in payments of over $15k and promised at completion of all punch list items he would pay, he didn't. All subs were paid that he paid us for and weren't paid when he didn't pay his over due amount of $32K. This was a complete financial hardship for us and took several months to recover and his lawyer along with himself, lied in court and failed to contact us when trying to remove his lien, that was why a very valid lien was removed. Unable to continue to pursue this matter, due to finances when we took such a loss, we unfortunately had to cease in our attempts. We still work with several of our trades so his allegations we hadn't paid, is completely false. His wife managed to drive off several sub contractors due to her anger and yelling when they disagreed and the work scope changed almost daily because of (consumer name withheld per their request)and his wife disagreeing all of the time which also put immense pressure on the trades and schedule. During the project, they also breached there contract with us several times when trying to hire our trades to do the work we were hired to do so they could get the work cheaper. They then started hiring their own trades to work on the project while under contract with us and removing that work from their contract without notice, another breach. This type of behavior was bad but not as bad as checks not clearing our account due to insufficient funds. We worked seven days a week for three months and at the end, he was extremely over budget and cancelled our contract after we completed yet another change order for $20K and during that time, ordered more work when all along (consumer name withheld per their request) knew he had no intentions to pay. I don't usually respond with such harsh words for a customer, but (consumer name withheld per their request) used us to get what they wanted, ran out of money in their Highland Park home and used our company as a means to get what they wanted to fit into the neighborhood. (consumer name withheld per their request) contacted us to work after previously meeting him on his previous house to add a third floor room addition six months earlier. (consumer name withheld per their request)always took a different stance when his wife put her foot down like the time we had to completely re-texture all of the interior walls and ceilings after he chose his spray texture to match and (consumer name withheld per their request)yelled and he said we did the texture on our own with no approvals, that was a $4000 bill that we had to pay for, there were many situations like this. We are a hard working company as you can see from other reviews and will go beyond what is needed to please a client, it's all about the outcome after we produce our designs. But, most people don't appreciate the extra effort and will try to take advantage. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss. Thank you, Jack P.S. To contractors, interview your potential clients as they do you!

The project was top notch. They helped us turn our aging house which was in desperate need of a 'refresh' into a place we can once again call home and enjoy. A total update of 2 baths, the entire kitchen, wood floors throughout our entire 4 bedroom house, and more. Although we had an extremely constrained budget, they were able to still provide us with great suggestions, designs, quality materials, , along with excellent workmanship and customer service.Final project turned out much better than anticipated. Thanks to Home Solutions, we continue to enjoy our home's new look each and everyday!

We had our initial consultation and they were very professional with wonderful ideas that captured exactly what we wanted in our new projects. We created an open living/kitchen concept and a new master bathroom. They provided all designs, products, remodeling and decorating and we couldn't be happier. Very good quality and value for what we received. Would use them again and have referred them to friends looking to remodel their house.

The design consultant was helpful. The project manager was difficult to communicate with (poor job over site). Several sub-contractors were sub-par. We were impressed with the tile installation and shower glass enclosure.
Response by Home Solutions: We had two project managers over seeing this project and were in constant communications with this client and visited to inspect progress on a daily basis. We did have an issue with a sub contractors work and we quickly rectified the situation to the clients satisfaction. There were changes throughout the project which did add to the completion time and overall we considered this client to be happy and very satisfied with the work we performed and the final outcome was wonderful! We are surprised to say the least about the rating and did try several times to contact the client after we reviewed their rating, but we had never heard back from them?

Jack has a very nice personality and can sell you his services. As a progect manager he is very poor, I was not informed that the floor I had chosen would be uneven ,if he had I would have chosen something else. What I did choose was porcelain it is pretty but that is all.Jack did not offer to do anything to help about the matter except to say that his own flooring(slate) is also uneven. My floor should have been floated out and installed properly.Dell Tile also agreed with us that the floor should be even and can be repaired or be removed and relaid correctly but Jack has not offered any help!
Response by Home Solutions: This project was a kitchen remodel and it looks beautiful which is not mentioned. The floors chosen was a new style porcelain plank that simulates wood flooring and the client was made aware that it would not be laying flat as a standard tile. After installation of the flooring, she was unhappy with some corners of the tile raised so on several occasions and in several areas, we removed the tiles and reinstalled to try and correct the uneven tiles, but we're unsuccessful due to the design and style of the type of tile. They are designed to look rustic so all four corners were not able to lay flat. We will help as she needs, she seemed happy?
