Ivan was amazing. He was available at short notice (under a month in the Bay Area!) and was so responsive. My husband and I are first time home buyers and were somewhat uncertain and indecisive about everything to do with the remodel. Ivan worked so patiently with us to figure out what we wanted / needed, made excellent suggestions, pointed us to all the right supplier resources, and was so communicative throughout the remodel process. He'a amazing and not at all condescending (as most contractors were when they heard about our relatively modest remodel budget). Other pros went out of their way to make it seem as though our work was literally not worth taking on. We were getting work done on the entire lower level of our house (plus a future kitchen remodel next march for which we'll 100% be using him again.

Ivan rebuilt our deck and replaced some flooring in my home. He is easy to work with, shows up on time, finished on schedule, and his prices are fair. My wife & I are pleased with the quality of his work. Overall a very good experience, will definitely contact Ivan again for other home projects.

Project: Build or Replace a Deck or Non-Masonry Porch
He built the deck and installed double French doors. The were clean, prompt and extremely professional. The value to me was priceless. I have useable space.

From the very first phone call (to the last call and handshake) Ivan was very attentive, responsive, flexible, and punctual. He agreed to build and add 2 new bathrooms in a 3 week window when many other contractors hesitated. He started the project on time and fast. On day 2 of the project I significantly increased the project scope by asking him to completely remodel my old bathroom, effectively building 3 new bathrooms. Ivan and his team accepted the challenge without complaint and actually delivered: all 3 bathrooms were completed 2 days before the very aggressive deadline! The work quality and customer service was top notch. Minor touch-ups were required after the project completion---Ivan and his team took care of them within a few days of my request. I am very satisfied with his work and responsiveness and highly recommend him.

Ivan was a nice enough guy when I met him, seemed down to earth and had quoted me a fair price for the work he was going to do for me on my leaking windows. On this work, and for the small landscaping and window screen replacement he did a pretty decent job at a fair price, which is why the rating is not lower. However, on the windows, the work didn't solve the issue. I told him what I thought the issue was and he agreed with me. I had expected an 'expert' in the field to pinpoint the problem or at least tell me that I'm wrong. While he was attempting to fix my windows, I made the grave mistake to ask him to look at my roof, which had a leaking problem between my house and the neighbors. He told me this was due to some rusty nails around the skylight and other parts of my roof. He quoted me $800 to patch it up and it would solve my water problem. He also told me he had a 1-year guarantee on his work. Thinking he knew what he was doing and was giving me a fair price I paid him. I soon realized that all they did was slap some tar on top of these 'rusty nails', which took all of maybe 1.5 hours to do - equating to a rate of over $500 /hour for labor - which DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I'm glad no one can see the skylight, b/c it looks awful. Despite the look and the cost, I would have been fine with it if it solved the leak problem, but it did not! The next time it rained, water was still coming down in some of the same areas, as well as a new area. I called Ivan and he came back out and looked at it - this was the last time that he returned my calls/texts in a timely manner. He claimed that he did not look at the front part of the house and said that I had an issue with the chimney and quoted me another $900 to replace the chimney. At this point, I had lost all confidence in his ability to fix the issues I have and decided not to throw any more money into the pit. When I contacted Ivan regarding the 1-year guarantee he had on the windows and the roof area that he supposedly looked at, it took numerous texts and phone calls to reach him. When I finally was able to reach him, he promised to come out and look at it and fix it, even in the rain, the next time I saw the leak. So, we had a huge storm the past week and I have sent him multiple texts with pictures and have heard nothing.
Response by Ivan Alberto Rivera Rivas: This homeowner with all the respect that he deserves he had other people working on this same project and he wanted me to fix their mistakes for the same amount of money that he previously paid me also pointing out other leaks in his house that didn't have anything to do with my previous work I have other customers giving me reviews of my work that they speak for themselves.
