Review by Deanna S. in Denver, CO
Project: Hire an Architect to Design a Project
John has been paid in full and yet to produce acceptable drawings to submit to the city. The plans he made were based on his recomendation and ideals he completed eleminated our request and wants, his only excuse to not drawing plans the was we have asked him to is that is is going to cost more in expenses. I have yet to hear back from him on plans.
Response by John B. Collins Architect, LLC: It is unfortunate that Deanna feels this way. I have given them plans to submit to the City, fully stamped and ready to go. However, they are now demanding that I change the plans in a way that is adverse to the soils report. If I were to change the plans the way they want, they would not pass through the City of Lakewood and they are in danger of having their house slide down the hill. I have the soils report to prove it. I'm sorry that I cannot accommodate their unreasoanble request. I have given them ample ways to prove me wrong, and have heard nothing.

Review by a homeowner in Brighton, CO
Project: Design a Building (Non-Architect)
John was a consultant to our residential project. His task was to review a set of architect plans that met the North Carolina code, as modified by the owner/builder, who was an experienced draftsman but lived out of state. His specific charge was to review the owner's plans and make suggestions for any changes that needed to be made to meet the requirements of the Adams County (Colorado) building code. The plans passed the plan examiner's review and a building permit was issued. All onsite inspections of the structure were approved to date, and the structure is nearing completion.
