O'tooles handyman service did all the work they said they would do, showed up on time (big plus for me). Butch and Chris were great to work with. They let me hang out and grab a few pointers on painting and finishing drywall. I'll be hiring them again for my next projects in the spring.

Project: Install Drywall
I was so impressed with O'Tooles Handyman service and I would like everyone to know what great work Patrick's crew does. I am pretty handy myself at most projects, but when it came to remodeling my bathroom I got into a little over my head and had to rip all the drywall out. I found O'Tooles services on here, and Patrick was very quick to respond to my issue! He was able to send out help that same week to help me install the drywall and new plumbing for the shower. The quality of work was spot on and I was extremely pleased with the way it turned out. His contractors are extremely professional and friendly to work with. I would absolutely recommend O'Tooles Handyman services and we will be using them again in the future for any upcoming projects.

Project: Install Drywall
My husband and I hired OTooles Handyman Service to finish our garage to bring it up to code per the town of Manlius regulations. Patrick, the owner of the company, was very personable and friendly to begin with. He made it very easy to want to hire him to complete the job. He sent me an estimate for the job which I was very happy to see their estimated price for the job as it was lower compared to the estimates I had gotten from other contractors. When Patrick came by to measure the garage and collect data for an estimate-he stated if we pay in cash the hourly cost for labor will be $5 less per hour. I asked him if he needed details of what needed to be done to bring the garage up to code and he said no and that he knew what the town would want. I did, however, give them the contact person and information at the town hall in case they had any questions. 2 days into the job his counterpart Chad (who basically runs the show once Patrick gets the down payment for the job) told me the town wants another step done which Patrick and Chad did not know needed to be done. This was going to be approximately $500 more. Then it came time to paying for the materials for the job. The cost for the materials ended up being $800 more than what the estimated cost of the supplies were listed to be on the invoice Patrick sent me. When I called Chad to inquire why it was so much higher he basically blamed it on Patrick and said his measurements may have been inaccurate. When I received the final bill I told Chad that Patrick had said if I pay cash labor would be $5 less per hour. Chad said he was not under the impression this was an hourly job. I asked him to speak with Patrick about it. Patrick called me and basically had excuse after excuse why this was not going to be $5 less per hour (like he told me it would). He basically bullied me over the phone and tried to intimidate me. He was so unprofessional and did not own up to what he originally told me. From the moment I signed the estimate agreeing to let them start the job, Patrick was no longer that friendly man that came to look at my garage the first time. It was very obvious he was all about getting his money. He even wanted me to drive to Liverpool to hand him a check the same day I signed the estimate. Who does that?! The job was done, however, the final price was over $1,000.00 above the estimate they had given me. I know an estimate is just an estimate but this was nowhere close to the number they had given me! Very frustrating as a customer. I will NEVER use or recommend them to anyone. Please do not be fooled by this company. Overlook the references he hands you and MOVE ON!!! All this guy cares about is money. A very angry and unhappy customer
Response by CNY Handyman, Inc. formerly O'Tooles Handyman Service: This customer had prior electrical permits that were not in the scope of the job we were hired to do. We were there to do sheetrock install and fire tape. The inspectors told us what their problems were with prior unfulfilled permits and they were NOT happy with this owner. We knew then that they could push this owner around on the inspection of our job. We told the owner that fact. Our crew sat sometimes for 3-4 hours waiting for the inspectors on two different days as they had 3 inspections. We had to pay our crews to wait---therefore the customer was billed for additional time and other materials required by inspectors.

Review by Scott M. in Liverpool, NY
Project: Hire a Handyman
Unprofessional, difficult to get them to set up an appointment with actual date and time versus 'ballpark' estimates for an appt after they received my deposit, an apt was set up with 24 hours notice, I was able to make the arrangements to take the time off of work but cancelled shortly before they were supposed to show up. Then when I requested my deposit be returned received a condescending voicemail from the contractor.Stay away unless you want to wait way too long for an apt/work to be completed and expect a professional contractor and behavior. What are the odds I get my deposit back??
Response by CNY Handyman, Inc. formerly O'Tooles Handyman Service: After seeing this review little credence should be attached to this review. We did NO work for him and, as it turns out, may never make him happy ! We are glad he canceled. He was contacted by one of our team members and yes we did have an appointment to do a small job at his home, BUT, we had an emergency job that water was pouring into another home and the exterior was exposed. We found this out and called this customer to say we would be delayed and he was rude and obnoxious. If you had your home open and exposed would you not want it fixed ASAP? We told him we would be there BUT we would be late. His deposit was returned

The team of Rob,John and Chrissy were just outstanding. They were talented , efficient and assisted us with other problems that were discovered during the project. They also painted the whole house and put in a large ceramic kitchen floor in a very timely manner. We would use them again and would not even consider looking for anyone else. They are trustworthy and work hard to complete the project . Thank you so much
