The pool is beautiful and the design is exactly what we wanted. The selection of tile made our simple pool look very elegant. We are happy with the final product and we are enjoying our investment.

Our journey with Olympus Pools began after meeting with more then 6 other pool builders in the Tampa and Sarasota areas. The reason we chose Olympus Pools is, they were knowledgeable, professional, had competitive pricing, and they actually listened to our vision. In addition, we liked their website, mission statement, and other pools they had completed in our area. We met with Mike Cook, a salesman for Olympus Pools, at our house to discuss our ideals and vision. Mike listened, took measurements of our yard, copious notes, and scheduled another meeting with us a week later at their office in Tampa. This meeting was nothing short of impressive. They had put our ideas together in a 3D presentation that visually showed us how the pool, spa and deck would look in our backyard. We appreciated how Mike and the owner James Staten collaborated with us as true professionals to finalize the details, materials and total cost of the project. From this point on it took approximately 2 weeks for the permits to get approved and the construction phase to begin. The layout, excavation, plumbing, steel, and gunite installation were all completed within 2 weeks and the grading, coping/tile installation, perimeter plumbing, forming/bonding of footers, delivery/installation of materials/pool equipment, electrical work, travertine layout, screen installation, application of interior, pool fill, and final cleaning of our yard were completed in 6 weeks. Although we weren't in any rush, Olympus Pool's exceeded our expectations by completing our backyard oasis within 8 weeks. We would like to note that all phases in the construction process were organized and scheduled by Ashley and Melissa, monitored/supervised by James, the owner, Brian, the construction manager, and other Olympians like Cody and Chris, and completed by sub-contractors that were friendly and communicative. The Olympians worked and communicated with us as a team and stopped by on a regular basis to inspect and make sure all phases of construction were completed up to standard and in a timely manner. We received regular emails about what was to be completed during the upcoming week and notified of any potential issues or delays. Additionally, we had contact via phone and text in case we had questions or concerns in the interim which they promptly answered in most cases that very same day. One important thing that we learned as homeowner's having a pool built for the first time was that this is truly a construction project. There is much more involved in building a pool then we realized and as such we prepared and accepted that our yard would be in disarray during the entire process. We had to be patient and go through this process in order to get to the end result which turned out amazing and all that we had envisioned! Thanks to all the Olympians at Olympus Pools for making the experience worry free and bringing our visions to reality! Cheers!!

Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
The overall product was everything that we wanted but it was no easy task getting there: 1) When we met with our "SALES PERSON" he told us that everyone who contracts through the company is an actual employee for the company...(when in fact everyone was sub contracted). 2) Olympus started digging the hole in the yard PRIOR to the HOA approval. 3) Being that everyone was sub contracted, we had to request a list of who would be on our property at any given time. However, when the list was provided, it was only the name of the company and not the supervisor, phone number, website, etc....Never knew if someone was qualified to do the job they were there to perform. 4) The Gunite company decided to change the location of our stairs without our approval to cover the rhubarb in the pool. Took weeks to get it corrected. 5) Issues with getting the lien releases for each completed job. Had to continuously ask them for it. Even had to (once) go to the office in person for them. 6) The associates in the office were often clueless of your job and were are not able to resolve questions / problems quickly. We were even witched to a new "contact" person near the completion of the job. 7) Gunite company stained the road in front of our house and neighbor's homes, even though we told they will put liners underneath their vehicles. In addition, we were told that all stains would be removed from the streets but this was not true. They did "what they could" but it will take several years for these to disappear. 8) We received complaints from the neighborhood that the contractors trash lingered into their yards and into the lake behind the house. We provided trash cans to keep work areas clean of debris. 9) When it came time to learn about the pool and how it operates, the demonstration was very brief. We were not left with the reassurance that we were maintaining it properly. However, we were told to call anytime if we have questions. 10) Now one month after completion, the pool motor is loud. We called person who said "call anytime if you have questions" and he instead directed us to the office. The office took a message, but never returned the call so we had to follow up. That person scheduled an appointment, but it was miscommunicated and the appointment had to be rescheduled again. Fingers crossed they show. Overall, not what you would expect (or want to deal with) after paying Olympus a lot of money. If you don't care about the detail and steps along the way, then we recommend them. However, if you want to be involved throughout the process, please shop around.
Response by Olympus Pools, Inc.: We greatly appreciate your feedback and apologize if we failed to meet your expectations in any way. We greatly appreciate you recognizing the quality, and value of the pool that was built in 5 weeks. We do subcontract our work with crews that have been with us for years. Releases are always available upon request. At the end of the project we transfer our clients to our service department to handle any concerns. The technician referred you to the office because your service request requires a warranty claim which our field technicians can't do from the road. We apologize again if this was inconvenient in any way. Thank you for your feedback!

Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
First, I may say we are satisfied with the final product. However, every step of the process was a challenge. The personnel at Olympus are sales people and they will tell you whatever you need to hear to earn your business. Since they sub contract the work, you are not given any information about who is on your property at any given time. Also, you are also not automatically provided with lien releases to prove these contractors are being paid. Stay informed and keep the office number on speed dial!

Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
I would warn everyone about using Olympus Pools. They have been totally non-responsive in complying with state laws, providing a release from lien and completing the work specified on the contract. The service has been so non-existent that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Next step is to hire an attorney. Be Warn, you won't get anything but grief if you contract with Olympus Pools.
Response by Olympus Pools, Inc.: Hi thank you for the opportunity to respond. I truly have no idea what state law you feel we have violated. We have have passed all of our inspections and pool was built in 5 weeks and is beautiful. We received one service call request from your husband on 9/27. Our construction manager showed up to help him within 2 hours. Our crew was there later that afternoon to fix the issue. Your husband requested a final release that day, and it was sent to him from our office. I have never received a call from you and have always dealt with your husband. You can always call me and we are happy to help. Thank you.

They have finished as of this date and within one week...a lot has happened in preparing...forming, digging, guniting, pregrading, and have already dropped off tile. So far we are very happy with what we are experiencing. But we will see how we feel at the end of this construction.
