Project: Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace (Non-Gas)
I can not say enough good things about Clarke and Phillips Masonry. After choosing Phillips Masonry as one of my pros, I was contacted right away by Clarke (on a Sunday). He said he thought he'd reach out because he was going to be in the area that day and thought he'd stop by and be able to give me a quote. My project was in PA and I live in Los Angeles. Clarke was able to handle the entire project with me via texting of pictures and phone calls all while dealing with a 3 hour time difference. He gave me a great price for the work and called me from the house exactly when he and his crew were due to arrive. The job was a little more extensive than he thought once he got a closer look, but he kept his promise of the original price he quoted. He not only spoke with me many times over the phone explaining things but also spoke with my brother in NY. He and his guys made a very stressful situation, stress-free and easy. After all, I had to trust him from 3,000 miles away and he had to trust me as well. I felt like he was a guy that I knew for years after all the texting and talking and most of all he had a way of making me feel confidant and relaxed about the job being done correctly. I highly recommend Phillips Masonry. We are a family of 5 siblings (no one lives in the area) selling our family home and making decisions from far away. I seriously doubt that anyone else could have done a better job for us. Excellent hands on customer service and unbelievable craftsmanship. Our chimney is beautiful!!! Hire Phillips will not be disappointed!!!!

Project: Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace (Gas)
Cost: $2,100.00
My review is long overdue, but the experience with this contractor was too good to forget. I requested a quote on repointing and recapping the chimney on my home. The work was done skillfully, on time and at the reasonable price I was quoted. Even more, various other areas of mortar on the brick walls of my home were repaired without extra charge at the courtesy of the contractor. Most of all, however, is that when a problem with my bank delayed payment of my checks to the contractor, he went out of his way to allow me to correct the situation. I very much appreciated his cooperation and understanding. I highly recommend Phillips masonry.

Clark and his team did a great job! They were professional. They gave me a reasonable quote a few days after I called the company. They schedule my chimney work quickly and were done in a day and a half. All of the work was explained to me and why it needed to be done. Clark even went beyond his estimate and told me some other areas that needed work to stop our chimney from leaking (my husband fixed these), free of charge. I would definitely recommend Phillips Masonry to anyone!

I was very pleased with the work I had done. This was the first time I used Home Advisor and it was the first time the work was actually done as promised. The young men that did my work let me know what they would be doing each day. And when the work was done they cleaned up all the debris.

Clark kept the lines of communication open. He was prompt with replies, estimates, and starting the job. Additional areas of pointing were addressed during the job. Branden did exceptional work on the chimney with pointing and recapping. I would highly recommend hiring Phillips Masonry.

Project: Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace (Gas)
Cost: $2,500.00
We hired Phillips Masonry to replace a damaged flue liner and flue cap caused by a large fallen tree limb. This work required a partial dismantling and rebuilding (tuck-pointing) of our brick chimney, plus replacing the concrete chimney cap and metal flue cap. Clarke is very easy to talk to, and cares a great deal about his business. (His willingness to come over on a Sunday afternoon to offer a bid showed that aspect of him.) He thoroughly explained the work to be done. In addition to the required work; to make sure that our chimney would be structurally sound, his bid included a total re-pointing of the whole chimney, from the roof on up; which we agreed to do since our home is older. His crew is excellent and friendly. They showed up early and kept working throughout the day. They also took the time to make sure that everything was cleaned up properly at the end of the job. The price was very fair, considering the amount of repair / replacement work to be done. We would hire Phillips Masonry again in an instant, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a brick mason. Awesome experience!

We hired Phillips Masonry to repair a brick chimney, point and replace damaged bricks. They went above and beyond the estimate on all tasks including installing a cement chimney cap to prevent future damage and inspecting the entire house for brick that needed replacing. The crew was friendly, showed up promptly at 8 am, worked hard and cleaned up at the end of the day. These are one of the good guys that do what they say and care about their work.
