DON'T HIRE - I paid to have my exterior walls insulated the end of November 2014. I had an energy audit in February 2015 thru National Grid's program, which was after the work was done by RJL Insulation. I was told MY EXTERIOR WALLS ARE NOT INSULATED. Plus RJL cracked a piece of my vinyl siding and tried to say it was already cracked which was not true. Then he said he would replace it. I will have someone else do in the spring. He told me he would send a refund check. I have been waiting over a month....still waiting. He was going to come to my house to drop off the money twice this past week and did not show up. DON'T HIRE. Debbie M 4/4/15

Robert called me quickly and scheduled the job for a time that was convenient for me. Kept me informed all along the way. Quality work at a very fair price.

Quick response to my service request followed by a prompt visit and estimate. Work was completed the following week. Considering how messy the insulation materials are, the entire crew really did a nice job completing the work without leaving a mess. Peace of mind to know that our attic insulation has been improved - should be a plus this summer as well. Thanks!

I needed service right away. The problem was accessed the day I called and done the next day. Bob Lewis and his assistant did an A+ job, working in freezing temperatures. Price of the job was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend him.

BAD BAD BAD! DO NOT HIRE! Robert J Lewis RJL INSULATION. If and when he would show up he did absolutely hoorible work! He never finished the job. We had a written contract and he still went out and purchased the wrong materials and didn't perform the job correctly. I had to take time off work and my personal life to not only correct EVERYTHING he did but also buy even more materials to finish the job! I was actually forced to give a RJL a 1/2star rating in order to write this review. I should have known better when I came home from work & he was drinking on the job.
Response by RJL Insulation: Ooh no no no , first of all this gentlemen received his permit so that means that the building inspector passed the job . Also [Consumer name withheld at their request]doesn't mention the fact that he owes me $600 . Unfortunately we can't keep everyone happy as I would really like to . Please future customers read my previous reviews , there are 3 complaints out of like 350 . I guess this customer just couldn't be happy no matter what even after all the extra free work we did and still lost $600 hmmm

As another person stated in their rating of this company, RJL was prompt with a great estimate, scheduled us quickly, and arrived early on the appointed day. They were all pleasant and professional and got the job done sooner than I expected. In addition to insulating they also foamed up all outside vents, plugs, etc. A bonus for us. RJL's price was very competitive and in fact beat out many of his competitors. What an incredible difference this has made to the temperature in the house. It is amazing! Thank you!

As new homeowners in a 34 yr old house, we needed to add insulation. After waiting on National Grid for 6 months, I researched and found RJL. Initially, I was impressed; he came out quickly for a free home inspection then accepted the job right away (yet he "beat" Nat'l Grid by a negligible margin). But I figured I'd give his small business my business. I asked him if we should remove our stuff from the attic first, but he assured me he & his crew would do us that favor, to save us the hassle (I shouldn't have listened). After the insulation was done, I saw that they had put our items back on the wrong side (we had discussed this prior to the start of the work, but my instructions weren't followed.) They left the house pretty messy, but I let it slide. Then I called him to let him know that the stuff wasn't in the right place. Immediately, he cut in to tell me that one of his guys has severe ADD, didn't listen to or understand his directions as to where to put our stuff back, and he'd probably have to let this guy go, as it wasn't the first time he had screwed things up. Robert then offered (HE OFFERED!) to come back to my place a few days later, on a Friday, to move the items and rearrange the plywood, lots of plywood. He never showed on Friday, so I called him on Monday & he said it had slipped his mind. Then he promised to call me a few days later to reschedule. He never did. So when I called him back, after giving him about a week, he claimed he didn't have my number but had it now, so he'd call me in a day or two. Two full days later, I called him, but now he wasn't answering his phone. I left him a detailed message with my numbers, but never heard from him. I knew at this point he wasn't going to be coming back (let's face it, he had cashed the check, and it was clearly all he cared about.) About a month had gone by & I finally called and left an angry message on his machine (would he want HIS family to be treated the way he treated ours?) We had been waiting on him to rearrange our attic and store things up there, but finally did it ourselves. I wasn't going to write a review, but after spending 2 hours with my husband in the attic in dust and insulation, moving huge wooden planks, finding all of our clothes, suitcases, etc. COVERED with insulation and finding some of our items thrown all over our attic in spaces we can't reach & a lot of their work trash left behind (including huge pipes of ours that they replaced, but just LEFT up there) and then spending another 1/2 hour vacuuming my house from all of the insulation that was stuck all over us after we left the attic, I was fuming. Robert Lewis' crew made a mistake that would have been easy enough for him to fix...it wouldn't have taken him long to help us out. Instead, he lied to me, had me waiting on him when he knew he'd never show up, and then completely blew me off, not even calling to just be up front and say, "hey, I'm sorry but I just can't get back to your place." Had he been honest from the start, or even after a call or two, I would have been fine with what happened. But to treat a customer this way? It has been almost 2 months, and I still haven't heard from him, nor do I ever expect to (except that he will probably try to negate this review!) I would never recommend him to anyone, and I hope our experience saves someone else from having to go through the same thing. His work was nothing special---spend the extra money and go with a professional company and one that takes pride in its work.

Very good price, beat out most all competitors by hundreds. Owner is a typical ruff neck type contractor but he did do a nice job and didn't leave a mess.
