Project: Repair a Deck or Porch

The contractor did the best that he could. I'm not fully satisfied with the results but don't think anyone could have done any better. Highly overpriced for service provided!

Response by S.A.H. Building and Remodeling: This deck that we did repairs to had 2 screws per header, no lags or bolts, and the 16' wide deck had only a 2x6 for a headers. we installed 4 more 2x6s to strengthen up the deck after we jacked it up , (the 2 screws per 2x6 didn't hold),the deck was falling down , and created a hump in the center of the deck. and we used galvanized lag bolts on all 9 contact points,(where the headers meet the 4x4 posts). The composite decking had formed a hump in it over time , after we raised the deck , the hump was still visible , the only way to eliminate the hump completely was to replace the deck boards , he did not want to do that. $460.00

Project: Repair Indoor Shutters

I didnt ever think that I would find someone that could repair the interior shutters in my family room, but thanks to Steve Hax of S.A.H. Building and Remodeling and Service Magic they are repaired and I am extremely pleased. Steve is a very pleasant person and a meticulous worker. I will recommend him highly to friends and family and will call on him again in the future.

Response by S.A.H. Building and Remodeling: We also re-secured some falling soffit , the F channel wasn't nailed off well , and got a wood framed window that wouldn't close to close, (cut and sanded the frame).
