I was impressed by their service. The only reason I didn't give them 5.0's was because my garage roof had issues that I thought could be corrected but looks like I will have to live with a flat roof that has a structural flaw and would need an overhaul to correct. Hopefully the rubber roof installed will keep the collection of water at it's low point at a minimum!

Fast, meticulous and in budget! These guys were great! From the initial meeting (in and out in 10 minutes!) to the professional plans/designs and contracts, to the quick completion (less than three weeks!) to the end product (beautiful workmanship). Sturdy Home Improvement exceeded expectations on every front and all within budget.

Project: New Windows - 6 +
Hired Sturdy Home Improvement for the replacement of 20+ windows and a front door. Our home is 101yrs old and has a lot of the natural wood work that you don't find in modern homes. I had a lot of concerns with preserving as much of the wood while replacing the windows (some still wood). I discussed my concerns and ended up picking quality windows that blended well. None of the trim work was compromised. We also changed the look of our bedroom window which didn't hold as much of the natural wood that the formal dining room, living room and entryway did. This investment has surely made our home more efficient with added quality and style. The contractor was very informative in answering our questions and finished the job quickly with very little mess. I would highly recommend and use them again in the future.

Salesman was knowledgeable, but don't forget, he is a SALESMAN. Went over everything thoroughly that needed to be done -(which was reflected in price) but site manager wasn't advised. Brick molding around windows needed to be replaced. Molding was never purchased, my husband had to run out and buy it for workers. Rolls of Tyvek wrapping sat in driveway - oops, they forgot to use it, they weren't going to wrap the house! We had them remove siding they initially put up, to put up wrap. They were covering rotten wood that they knew had to be replaced. (have photos) Husband did multiple trips to Home Depot for materials the workers needed (plywood, 2X4s, brick molding, furring strips and cedar posts) because site manager hardly here. Site manager didn't want to replace posts on porch that we already paid to have replaced, asking why would we want to replace them, even though bottom of post were rotten from years of snow and it's not like we would get the money back. He wanted to save time on project. Fortunately learned fast we had to be on site every day. A number of times we caught them taking short cuts even to the very last. The overseer at office suggested worker use metal stip to use as weather stripping for windows, that worker previously had removed, so it would look ok and not get the proper item, once again to save time. Workers apologized to me, told me they were just doing what they were told to do. The workers themselves know what they are doing, but will do what they are told to keep their job. We are happy with finished product. It took a month instead of 2 weeks. They told us the owners usually aren't so hands on. So, when Sturdy Homes does a job fast, it might not be the best thing. This wasn't the company we thought we were hiring. If we didn't know any better and just saw the siding put up, we would have thought they did a great job....not knowing shortcuts they would have taken, not removing the rotten wood the salesman promised he would remove, and no Tyvek would have used.

I've waited to submit this review because I figured a little time to reflect on my experience would allow for a more reasonable and fair assessment of my project. It's been a year since this project was finally finished and I'm still disappointed in the how Sturdy handled their end of the deal. I asked many questions during the quoting process and was told that the job would take 1-2 weeks by Sturdy employees, not subcontractors. I do believe I received a good deal on the project up front, but the install turned into a nightmare. The job took almost 7 weeks to finish because they didn't have experienced people to do the job. They subcontracted the job to someone else even though I was explicitly told that they did not use subcontractors. Granted there was some bad weather that slowed progress, but the bigger issue was lack of experienced Sturdy employees to do the job. One technician ended up doing a majority of the work and he didn't even work for Sturdy. If it wasn't for his dedication and concern for getting the job done, the ratings would be lower. To make it worse, the project manager never made an appearance until 5 weeks into the project. I understand that I wasn't their only customer at the time, but when a project has as many problems as this one did, I would expect the manager to show more concern. I also had 16 windows replaced, which was by far the smoothest part of the project because they were completed in one day. I didn't appreciate being lied to, being rushed into a project that they weren't ready to start or being caught in the middle of their subcontractor drama. I cannot picture a scenario where I would ever hire Sturdy again.

1st of all roof on house looks good but they did not cover scrubs, lots of nails & asphalt shingles in bushes & on ground, broke gutter in front of garage & just left it, roof of garage is bowed-inspector should have notice prior to getting quote, snapped top of flowing bush instead of cutting & throwing it into dumpster so I had green leaves w/dead brown branched hanging down, workers took a bite out of green apples & threw on ground-couldn't get into dumpster?? move items & did not return back ,broke grill on deck & left it I was told all gutters would be check for correct pitch-mention to foreman &said if I don't see it written down I'm not doing it !! Sturdy Home Improvement was suppose to return to screen in & put new roof over deck for $18'000-- NO WAY WILL THEY EVER COME ON MY PROPERTY AGAIN !!!!! p.s. could not use my $500 coupon I got in the mail so I over paid by $500 I'm 68 year old female & I feel I was part of a hit & run deal plus no one ever contacted me after job was done as I was lead to believe No one cared as long as the got paid before job was completed I'm not happy with this company !!
