Project: Install Spray Foam Insulation
Western Spray Foam was fantastic. We had an odor problem from under our double wide mobile home and called Western to see what they would recommend. We decided it was likely rodents that were the culprits, nesting in the fiberglass batting under the house. We had Western come remove the old insulation and belly wrap, spray foam under the floor to provide insulation, seal all the gaps and holes and replace the vapor barrier. Ashley and Jen did the work and were fabulous. Our crawl space is just 2 - 3 feet high under out 1100 sq. ft. mobile home, which made this job a challenge. The women were troopers. The first day they crawled back and forth removing debris, insulation and belly wrap (and carcasses -Ick) and putting everything into plastic bags and removing it from our property. The second day was spraying the foam, sealing the gaps and holes we had requested, and removing most of the two layers of old vapor barrier. The third day they finished spraying, wrapped a few exposed water lines and replaced the vapor barrier. We crawled underneath to inspect the work and everything appears to be sealed well, including duct work. The odor is gone and it is much nicer to crawl around in. Throughout the process, everyone communicated well and we always felt listened to and our wishes complied with. From Craig, who gave us the initial bid to Cori, who sent us information and answered questions at the office to Jeremy, who supervised the job, to the women who did the work... everyone kept us in the loop and asked questions to make sure they were doing things as we wanted. They were patient with all of OUR questions and requests and left the place clean and spray foam bits vacuumed each night. Jeremy was at our place several times to bring supplies and make sure all was going well. They do run a generator while spraying and for an hour or so before the spraying begins, but it is not too loud and they don't run it while they are doing other tasks. Jen and Ashley were extremely detailed and made sure that the job was done right and we were satisfied. It's got to be hard working in that small a crawl space all day, especially with the odor that was there to start with, but they kept at it and got the job done as quickly as possible. The odor is gone and the hardened spray foam should be far less attractive to mice than the fiberglass batting! We would highly recommend these folks. They weren't quite the cheapest, but they were right in the ballpark and we believed we would get the best result from their company. They listened to our concerns, came up with an appropriate plan to address our problem, and executed it extremely well.
