About This Gallery

This dining room and hallway project has a field of quarter sawn White Oak installed on the diagonal. The outer border is Quarter Sawn White Oak perpendicular to the walls, the second border is a 1/4 inch aluminum inlay, and the final border is blocks of quarter sawn White Oak and quarter sawn Brazilian Cherry. The project was sanded then finished with two coats of Glitsa Satin Sealer and one coat of Glitsa Gold Seal Satin. This project took six days to finish.

Don't like. Too much contrast between the border and rest of the flooring. Should have installed the oak flooring in the tried and true method, straight up and down, not on the diagonal. Nice touch of the Brazillan cherry in pieces in the border.
