Comment: About 4 years ago, we built a room on top of an existing 8 ft. x 10 ft. patio slab. We received City permits. We didn't realize at the time that the slab was not attached to the main foundation. Consequently, it detached from the home and we have paid lots of money to a company to reattach it, but it has not worked. I need a structural engineer to look at it to tell me if the room is worth saving with more money of if we really need to just tear it down. My concern is that the room that is moving away from the home is pulling on the main wall to the house and is causing damage.
