Comment: our family room is on a slab and it is cold. we need new flooring. laminate would be the most sensible, but carpeting would be warmer. i need a price to purchase and install radiant heating which would be under new laminate flooring. our budget is small.

Comment: house is 4700 sq feet, built in 2006. No basement, so furnace is in closet off garage. furnance fan is so noisy that walls adjoining garage vibrate, rest of noise from fans also very high. I would like to consider the unthinkable - tear out the old system entirely. Install radiant floor heating on floor 1, radiators in floor 2. Then do something for A/C.
