"We hired Tarpon Bay to remodel a rental property we had just purchased. Since we live in MA, it was critical that we could rely on Brent and his team to communicate status and issues timely and with budget in mind. It was great to be able to trust that they would do the job the right way and with creative solutions when needed. I especially appreciate that they were courteous, professional, and cleaned up each day. I will absolutely hire them for our next project."

"It started as a simple consult on a Master Bath renovation with the possibility of a kitchen renovation. (In reality, my 1978 home was in dire need of a complete update) Here comes Mike with Hammer and Hand. He was prompt, courteous and engaged in my future home ideas. I wanted to hire him right on the spot, but I waited for his quotes to come back to me. He was quick to respond with detailed quotes that fit perfectly into my budget. After thinking for a minute, I decided to have Mike come back, meet my husband and go over possibly renovating the entire home. This has been a dream for us for over 12 years. We were so impressed with his demeanor, expertise and ideas that matched our ideas for our home. We hired Hammer and Hand after he quickly responded with a whole home renovation quote. Now the fun part! Renovation 2019 is underway!! Did I mention that we also needed to stay in the home at the time of all this going on!! I had been warned by many about the stress of living through a home renovation. Now that being said, it WAS NOT stressful. We enjoyed the process. The crew was so friendly, and they really took their time to respect that we had to stay in the home. They kept the place so clean. Every day it was like Christmas, what was going to be all new and shiny today?? I still sit and admire my home every day. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that this is MY HOME. Mike and the Crew from Hammer and Hand literally made our dream home come to life. We could not be happier. Thank you Mike and your hardworking friendly Crew at Hammer and Hand! -The Grey's"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
