Comment: Hello. We are looking to purchase a home that has a Geothermal Heat Pump. The age of the unit is unknown, but the home was built in 1989 and the system was likely installed at that time. We are scheduled to close on 6/22. The home was inspected yesterday and while the unit has power and the fan runs, it did not heat or cool the home except in emergency heat mode. The coils inside the unit frosted over when turned on. I'm hoping the system just needs a refrigerant charge, but I want an estimate on cost to repair this system. We have access to the property and need it evaluated by Thursday, June 7th. Would there be a charge to come out and give us an estimate? Thanks.
