Comment: Looking at a very unique project in Vicksburg, Mi. 49097. Have a piece of property that we are looking at building an Earth Ship style home on. We would like to do a Duplex style home structure with 2 apartments joined by a common kitchen/ dining/ great room/bathroom/ guest room and storage space. Each apartment would need to be a master with on-suite/ 1 additional bedroom/ a living area and loft space. We would Ideally like access to the single full 9' basement from concealed book case entrances from both apartments. The site is a 15 acre parcel and the purposed site is built into a natural hill that we can back-fill around the foundation. It is very important to us that this home is done using as many Earth-ship design principles as possible with a focus on using as much re-purposed material as possible while still meeting building codes and local ordinances. we plan to do as much of the construction as possible ourselves.
