Comment: We live in an older house on a busy street, and the traffic noise bothers me, especially at night. I would like some information on what our options might be to further soundproof our windows, especially the bedroom windows. Comment: I am putting rough finish on my basement, primarily to serve as an office. A problem that I currently have when working at home is noise from small children and the occasional barking dog. I want to sound proof the basement so that clients cannot hear crying or other loud noises from my daughter + other children. The floors above are hardwood; I am not concerned with footstep noises. My budget is tight, so I am not interested in expensive soundproofing treatments, perhaps a spray or other insulation. Depending on price, the area that needs treatment will range from roughly 600 square feet to 1200 square feet. The ceilings in my basement are low, so I am planning on leaving the insulation exposed, without drywall or suspension.
