"We really appreciate how organized Cole and project manager Devin are. They organized the subcontractors easily and were always just phone call away. They always came to check on the quality of work and addressed any questions or challenges that came up in a timely manner. The plumber and electrician they used for our bathroom project were very professional. We will be hiring them for more projects this year."

"Ryan did all of the tile work for my post hurricane Katrina renovation. This was an extensive job on a 5000 square-foot house that involved new flooring installation, intricate shower tile installation, and refinishing natural stone. This job was incredibly detailed and involved strange angles and demanding patterns. He did an absolutely beautiful job. He takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. Years later, Ryan was very easy to get in touch with when I needed a small tile repair made due to my house settling. I am planning to put in a kitchen backsplash and plan to use him again. I would definitely recommend Ryan for tile flooring installation, tile shower/tub installation and tile floor refinishing."

"I can't say enough good things about Benny and Terry except that they probably need to charge more for their services. I had a great experience from start to finish. Great customer service, on time, efficient and affordable. This type of service is rare. I look forward to working with Acadian Remodeling for all my future projects. Thank You, M.B."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
