A roofing company said the roof is fine and the chimney should be now, too, but I'd like to get the joint opened and inspected from the inside, and then the drywall redone.

  Comment: I’m in the buying process of a home which is an estate sale home. The woman who resided here was handicapped and the full bath has water damage along the edge of the tub surround likely due to a leaky shower head per the home inspector. He described the process of the repair to me, but I currently do not have the tools or the skill set to complete the repair myself. I would love to learn this skill though. I need a professional who will complete the work properly and will clean up their mess when finished. I understood it to be a rather simple repair, so I would expect the contractor to give a reasonable estimate of the work to be completed. The home has been vacant since October 2023 and was, upon the date of the home inspection, the main/full bath area of concern, was completely dry and the inspector concluded that there wasn’t any mold associated with the water-damaged area directly above the tub surround. I am requesting a contractor to view & assess the area of concern and formulate a quote. From there, I will decide whether or not to use this company. Closing is Monday, February 26, 2024. I would need the work completed before March 1, 2024. Thank you for your attention to this concern.
