Comment: We have a decorative gas fireplace with the TV mounted approx 1' above. The vent for the fireplace is directly below the TV, so the fireplace cannot be lit for a long period of time before we risk damaging the TV from the heat. So we would like to fabricate a removable stainless steel piece of of sheet metal (31.5" wide x 12" height) to diffuse the heat away from the base of the TV when using the fireplace. There is about a 2" gap between the wall & the fireplace vent where the sheet metal could be anchored (possibly weighted?). Then we would just need a 45 degree bend in the sheet about 4-5" above the base to extend out over the fireplace vent and diffuse the heat out into the room. We would greatly appreciate an estimate.
