"They were friendly and professional. I had them repair a few interior doors that were not opening/ closing properly. I also asked them to change out a few door hinges that had been painted over by previous home owners. The work was done promptly and the doors now work!"

"W.B. Dickenson is the most professional company of its kind that I have used in over 40 years of home ownership. From the first person to whom I spoke to the plumbers themselves, I felt respected and valued. The plumber assessed the situation, proposed the solution, and performed efficiently and effectively. I never saw a plumber "break a sweat," but this one did on this project. Nevertheless, the problem was addessed and I could not be more satisfied. Even the cost seemed reasonable, especially with the quality outcome received. What could have been an expensive disaster, turned out to be a significant, but manageable problem."

"The true treasure of the experience was the carpenter, Balint, who was a very detail oriented craftsman. He worked long days, cleaned up space beautifully each day, communicated daily with us regarding the project. The electricians, Vince and Joe, were thorough and complete with all of their work. The project manager, Pete, stayed in touch regularly to complete the renovation on time."

"CT Basement systems did a wonderful job on the walls that were flood damaged. Their overall system is great. We didn't need the total renovation but if we did, we would certainly have had them do it. After researching others, this was the best."

Basement - Remodel
"Finished 80% of basement with a new family room, a new exercise room, a new bedroom and a new full bath. They have an amazing operation. The project started and finished exactly when they said it would... and IT COST EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID IT WOULD COST. I was amazed at their organizational skills and the project moved along like a symphony of different construction specialists coming and going. Jim (owner) told me the only way they could schedule with such precision is by having all the contractors work directly for him. He has project managers and specialists for every aspect of the job. I would HIGHLY recommend them."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
