Fencing material: Aluminum or Steel
Comment: Our house is being rehabbed in the historic Tobin Hill District. We have a wood fence around the back of the house. Now we need an iron or steel or aluminum fence from the wood fence on one side, around the front of the house with a step back and gate for the front walk, to eventually meet up with the wood fence on the other side. Also, where the fence crosses the driveway there needs to be a gate -- solar powered would be nice. The power unit for the gate should be on our side of the driveway. It is a one-car wide driveway, so a single gate that swings open is probably desirable. Whatever material is selected, and whatever final design is selected has to be approved by the Historic Commission before installation. Many other houses in the neighborhood have iron or iron-look fences, so ours will be approved once it is presented to the commission (but it has to be presented). We do have sketches of what the fence might (ideally) look like, and where it goes on the property. Th
