David Lupberger on Getting a Pro for Your Air Conditioner: Hi, I'm David Lupberger with ServiceMagic.com. Today we're going to talk about air conditioning servicing and maintenance. The reason I'm brining this up is for two very specific reasons; it will save you money and it will save you money. I say that because when you invite a repairman out to look at and service your air conditioner, you could take a small problem before it becomes a big problem that will save your money. That service person will also check the electrical components, they'll check the motor, the refrigerant level which means the air conditioner will run more efficiently and that saves you money. Lupberger: What you can expect from a professional service company: 1. Check all electrical components and controls. 2. Check for the proper refrigerant levels. 3. They will clean the evaporator and condenser coils. 4. Oil the motor as needed. 5. Calibrate the thermostat 6. Check the condenser for any possible problems 7. Check, clean, and or replace any filters. Lupberger: It's important to schedule this service sooner than later. It's spring; we're coming into summer. You don't want to wait until it's 90 degrees when 1,000 other people are also trying to reach the air conditioning service person to get some help. Get this done now while these people are available.
