According to lighting expert Joe Rey-Barreau, a basic, small-scale professional landscape lighting project using low-voltage,120-volt lighting would include:

• 5-7 uplights = $50 – $100 each
• 4-5 path lights (mounted about 10 feet apart) = $50 – $100 each
• 1-2 transformers (starting at 100-600 watts), which can be plugged into the standard outlets in your home or garage = $150 – $200 each
• Low-voltage cable (100-foot roll) = $150
• Accessories (mounts, grounding stakes, etc.) = TBD

Total Cost of Components = $800 – $2,000

Professional Installation (roughly half the cost of the components) = $400 – $1,000

TOTAL COST WITH INSTALLATION = $1,200 – $3,000
