Appointment was for 8am, Electrician showed up at 9:30am, then didn’t have a simple 15 watt circuit breaker on his truck. Had to come back. Spent 10 minutes changing the breaker and charged $216.50. A rip off!

Problem: No power coming into the outlets. Tech checked wiring in attic twice to locate the junction box. He decided that there must have been another outlet box above the existing one because of a new wire added later and he had seen this before in older homes. He suggested cutting a hole in the wall to locate the box. After he cut the hole and found no outlet he went back up into the attic to find the source of the wire and found that it was coming from another junction box he had not checked previously. He then realized that it was coming from a switch located by the front door. He had not checked the switch when he first arrived and that was the problem all the time because the switch was not turned on. My wife was very upset when she saw the hole that we had to repair. I think that if the tech had followed the process of elimination, he would have found that the switch was in the off position at the very beginning. I say this because when dealing with senior citizens a person cannot always depend on what the home owner thinks is the problem but uses his own experience to guide him. He did replace an old wall outlet but this experience cost me $169 dollars, plus the price of supplies for my wife to try to repair the wall.

The technician was very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain what he was doing. I was confused by the service visit being listed as $39.00. However, I was charged $49.00. When I asked about it, I was told they waved the service fee and only charged the diagnostic fee. A diagnostic fee was not listed on Home Advisor. I strongly believe the exact price for them to come and determine the problem should not be two fees. One listed price is all there should be. I feel like Home Advisor does not fully inform the consumer of the facts. I believe A & A Electric use different terminology in order to charge $10.00 more than what was listed.
