Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
AO TORRES, was hired to build and install a pool system in our house in Palm Springs. Gerado was the main person who I dealt with, overall he was pleasant man and has good intentions. However is his boss Alex, could be difficult to work with. The project was schedule to be done in less than 2 Months and ended up almost 5 months. One thing I learn in working with construction workers is never let your money get ahead of the job progress. In other words you should be paying them as the job progresses. See what happens is these construction guys will use your funds to fund other projects that have and in the meantime your project is on the back burner. Overall the pool was nicely done but the final cost was 12k more than the original estimate. Other complaints include -Leaving a mess everywhere, trash from men?s lunch, to construction by products -damaging the gate and not fixing it properly, called them several times to fix it. Til this day gate is not working properly. -workers harassing neighbors ( girls in pool) -cheaply placed sliding door alarms -unfinished drain covers Overall B-

Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
WARNING...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! As a real estate investor, I have hired and worked with many contractors through the years. Never before have I had such a horrible nightmare experience as I had with Alex Torres. I hired Alex to build a pool and block wall on my property. The following are just a few of the issues I experienced. 1. Work would stop for days after I made each progress payment. 2. Nothing was ever complete after each progress payment. 3. The important thing was missing like shutoff valves, steps in the pool, gates, wall and gates too short for code, self-closing gates not operating to code, pool and wall built on setbacks, blocks in wall badly misaligned and crooked, equipment not working and leaking. 4. Alex refused to provide release waivers and refused to finish the project per contract. 5. Alex employees were reporting to me they weren't getting paid by him and that he was in trouble at another project. I refused to make the final payment until he agreed to complete repairs to equipment and all of his unfinished work. Alex refused to answer my calls and texts and held my project hostage over 3 months. After refusing my requests to complete the project and provide me with an official Release from the California State Contractor Board, he proceeded to file a mechanics lien on my property for several thousand over the actual amount due. This guy is TOTALLY unprofessional, unethical, and a lousy contractor at best. All of the other reviews on here must be paid for because there is simply no better explanation. Save yourself a headache and find someone else!

They did an amazing job! We added additional concrete and the price was very competitive. We would recommend A.O. Torres highly.
