I had tried to contact the company months ago, but the company was too busy to fit my small project into their schedule. I contacted them again, and they were finally able to squeeze me into their schedule. The little work completed was greatly appreciated, but the initial scope of work, they did not do as I was trying to get an estimate to make sure I could afford them to complete the project, they took pictures looking at the project then left after completing the small outlet issue. After a day of contact from them, I contacted again and they made the decision to go with a larger project and could not do mine again. Communication between Joe and myself were done via email and one phone call to schedule the day for them to come to look at the project. The little work completed was done professionally by another member of the company (Not Joe). Other than the scheduling, I would recommend this company due to quality of work - if they can schedule you and keep the schedule.
Response by Advantage Electric: We traveled from Colchester to St. Albans with intentions of installing an owner supplied bath fan unit but customer wanted an estimate only on that install but wanted the small part of project fixed My employee fixed his smaller issue and took notes. If I had known it was going to be an estimate I would have gone myself. According to Matt the place was a mess and dirty. Unfortunately as employers we have the right to pick and choose the environments that we send our guys in and this was one of the ones that I wouldn't go back into.

Advantage Electric was prompt to respond to my Home Advisor inquiry, and accommodating about my scheduling needs. Two man crew arrived on time, were very professional, and they were so careful coming and going in this newly cleaned empty condo that not a trace showed on rugs or floors afterward [we were ankle deep in snow, salt on the walkway and Snowmelt at the time - hard not to track in]. Work changing out old and some new installment of smoke/CO detectors throughout unit was neatly done in a very short time, the bill for time and labor was perfectly reasonable for master electrician work, and the owner very pleasant to deal with. I paid by PayPal, and that was the only part of the invoicing that hiccupped, but we got it worked out. Definitely will use this company for residential electric another time, and recommend them.

Installed a few GFI outlets and fixed a few other things. Very polite young man and good worker. This company was from Burlington VT as I could not get a local company to even return my call!!

We came home after the work was done to find our electricity was still disconnected. We were billed for two hours at $100/hour, despite him not being on site for two hours - and our power not being restored. We paid the bill in full, within seven days of receiving the bill, via our credit union's bill-pay, yet he showed up at our home after 5:00p.m. on a Friday evening, his face reddened and puffed-up like a bloated puffer fish, demanding payment, insisting we never paid, and spewing profanities after he was asked to remove himself from our property. Would not recommend hiring this guy!
Response by Advantage Electric: We responded to Kathy P. phone call that they didn't have power. Left job out of town, fixed problem. Problem was melted term. in meter enclosure. Replaced parts only saving them hundereds! When power company came to turn on power they couldn't because the home owner left the elec. meter in garage so they couldn't turn power on. They came home to lack of power because of there own negligence. Kathy told me that payment was sent the next day and in Vt. mail is one day. After a wk. payment didn't show. Several calls no response so I stopped in to tell them to cancel check because it didn't show. He was offended and rude.

Joe went above and beyond for us on Christmas Eve morning when we lost electricity in our kitchen. He dropped everything and came over and stayed until the problem was solved - several hours - he was wonderful. Then 2 days later we had to have him come back for an additional problem and because of his concern for our faulty wiring throughout our house we will now be doing additional business with him. He is fair and honest and just a real treat to deal with. Thank you Joe! I will recommend you to everyone I encounter.
