We have been very pleased with the quality of work performed by Allen Restoration Group, especially the dedication of the on-site crew led by Mariusz. The renovation was accomplished with great precision and according to our specifications. The crew met all expectations and completed some extra work to help ensure that the project looked totally complete. The final bill was very fair for the project. We would highly recommend them for the quality of their work.

We selected Allen Restoration for a difficult job to replace some exposed wooden structural beams. As is often the case, a little difficult to get a hold of to arrange a quote; presumably busy. Once contracted, they performed the work flawlessly and as a bonus cleaned up much better than other contractors have done in the past. Polite and reasonable to deal with. A little pricey, but we expected that given the economy and the nature of the one-off task. Would definitely hire them again for any similar work.

    Response from Company:

Thank you, Joe! We love working with good customers like you.

I strongly advise you to reach out to previous customers for references. Please reach out to me. I would not use this contractor again. They asked for more money after quoting. The job was completed, but it took months longer than it should have. I have another small project but I'll find another contractor.

    Response from Company:

Allen Restoration Group is sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your experience. We do however have an explanation for the issues you have brought to light. 1. The final cost versus the quote. It is important to understand that when we give a quote, we are using our best knowledge of the work to be done, the cost of labor and the cost of materials, however it is still an estimate of the cost for the job. In this case, the cost of the concrete was higher than expected and that was a major issue in factoring the final cost. Additionally, although this was a "small" job, it still required the use of multiple tradespeople to complete. The scheduling of the trades required more time as we could not have multiple trades scheduled at the same time. This lead to delays in completing the work. We have no problem with prospective customers reaching out for references, as the majority of our customers are extremely satisfied with our work. As you can see, the majority of our reviews are positive. We would hope that any prospective customer would be willing to discuss their concerns with us so that an informed decision can be made. We also are hopeful that our explanation of the delays and costs overruns have helped you in your thoughts about our service. We are certainly willing to speak with you more fully to lay your mind to rest, please feel free to call if that would help.

The Business Development guy is good. He was good at selling their services and made a lot of promises... all things I wanted to hear... they'll deliver on time, are honest and care for materials and the client site, always be transparent, etc. Unfortunately the Partners that run this company, Tom Allen (Admin & Contracts) and Peter Zborek (Construction) are shady AF... and live up to any of those promises. More evidence that you have to be VERY proactive in vetting and supervising contractors when it has to do with "restoration contractors" in these situations... the have dollar signs in their heads when they know you have a pile of insurance money, and want to suck you dry with minimal or shoddy work in exchange for cash. Luckily this time around, I was there to protect my parents with contingent contracts and prerequisite delivery of work and materials on a timeline... where it was specific that if the work and items were not completed or usable, no more work or a full contract would happen... So yeah, roof was delivered late, and that was after they kept saying it would be in time... when questions why perfect warm weather days were not used by roofers... appears they use unreliable day laborers or contractors that can decide not to show up. Windows supposed to be ordered on Oct 1, were FAKE ordered on Oct 5, but the measurements were not finalized with the Lumber Supplier until Oct 15 or so... delaying our exterior work 4 weeks or more... now that we have to do a new order from the manufacturer with delivery no earlier than Dec 2018. Peter Zborek was basically going to lie apparently, trying to get us to sugn up on a blanket GC contract... and then say that the manufacturer needed a longer lead time... hence he had been sketchy when I asked about the windows being delivered on Nov 5... the day, coincidently qe all met on site to verify the roof was done... Oct 15. DO NOT Trust These Liars.

    Response from Company:

Allen Restoration Group, Inc. is sorry that you were unhappy with the service provided to your parents. As contracted, we installed the roof and as you know, the roof passed final inspection by the City of Wheaton. When we accepted this job, we understood that you had a bad experience with the previous contractor, which led you to be highly suspicious of all contractors. Working within these parameters we provided our services to the same standards we have provided to our previous and current customers, none of whom has complained. These same customers have no problem paying for our services. We are working with you and your parents to resolve this matter amicably. However, name calling and outright calling our company shady as well as refusal to discuss this matter without threats of legal actions merely escalates the issue to a place we don't want to go but will in order to defend our reputation. Hopefully this matter can be resolved to our mutual satisfaction. We will update our response as the situation develops.

Jim came over within 2 hours of my request to Home Advisor to give me an estimate. Then was able to schedule mold removal that same week. He and his assistant worked quickly and were able to finish sooner than I expected! He took pictures and filled out a report for us as we are selling the house. I would recommend Jim and Allen Restoration.

    Response from Company:

Thank you Susan. Its always nice to work with good people. Your review means a lot.
