We will start off with â on-time and on-budgetâ . That pretty much says it all, but we are going to give a few details as well. Jack and his team were professional from day one. When we met Jack the first time, he instilled confidence that his work would be top notch and it was, he takes pride in his work. From the design planning and working with his sub-contractor West DuPage Cabinets (shout out to Catherine), to the tear out and rebuild. He hires only very qualified sub-contractors and they work together seamlessly. They all clearly work together often and it provides a cohesiveness of exceptional workmanship. We had a good kitchen, but not completely functional. A pantry that was next to useless, basic house builder cabinets and cracks in drywall due to what appeared to be a lack of attention during framing. Jack and his team, redesigned our kitchen to provide all useable space, correct builder errors and even made a few minor custom changes. Admittedly this started out as a kitchen remodel, and turned into more, with fireplace change to the front and removal of standard mantle, then replace with sleeker contemporary design, and while weâ re at it, why not paint all the connecting rooms, adding new baseboards too, lol! Yes, these were add-ons, but all approved in advance, and well worth the money spent. Our project was completed in 30 working days, a little over 5 weeks! Timing was everything and all the subs worked together; plumber, electrician, dry wall team, and Mark the painter (otherwise all-round right hand); they made it happen! By the way, they laid protection on our wood floors and covered anything exposed to avoid dust damage. Every day they took at least 30-60 minutes to sweep and vacuum which reduced overall construction dust. This was very much appreciated and we were impressed. Thank you to everyone who worked on our project, you are all great and most appreciated. And a special thank you to Jack and Mark for their patience and professionalism. We will definitely use BBC Construction again when we are ready for our bathroom remodel.

Jack Zaruba and his team of exceptional sub-contractors remodeled my entire Townhouse top to bottom beginning with the empty basement, moving onto a complete remodel of my kitchen, powder room, laundry, living room/dining room, new stair banisters, master bedroom and master bath. . . In addition, upstairs...two bedrooms and guest bath. They were with me daily for 6 months. They kept to the daily schedule, on time, were polite, knowledgeable, and cleaned up after each day's work. . . they were in the house 8-9 hours a day. For 6 months I witnessed Jack and his entire sub-contractor team making sure that any issues that might arise during the remodel, were addressed and a successful solution was implemented by the team before they moved forward. Jack has an easy style. . . a good listener. . . was open and honest and communicated patiently with me, to be sure I understood and approved of his plan and/or change-of-plan. I love every inch of my remodeled Townhouse, and would highly recommend Jack Zaruba/BBC Construction to anyone who is looking for an experienced contractor with integrity, and a team of sub-contractors who once told me how much they liked working for Jack because he was highly organized, honest, and a man of integrity . . . the very best reference. . .

Jack Zaruba and his network of excellent subcontractors are awesome. Doing business as BBC Construction & Remodeling, Inc. in the far west suburbs of Chicago, they are competent, courteous, personable, and productive. Our upstairs bathroom is renovated and all supporting infrastructure is significantly improved. Everything in the house is now up to code. An earlier project with BBC Construction and Remodeling included turning a sinking enclosed front porch into a stunning sunroom with a proper full foundation, replacing many windows and siding on the entire house, upgrading the electric service, and fixing a troublesome multi-valley patch of roof. It's hard to describe how Jack and his team take what might be about the most anxiety-ridden remodeling job and make it smooth and enjoyable. Even fun! The level of care and quality are highest level. Professional, considerate, they make a schedule and keep to it!! They only work with the very best subs when necessary...and all are welcome back into our home anytime. I'm so glad I found them.

Total remodel of our kitchen. Jack presented a comprehensive project plan with specific milestone dates along with payment dates as the work was completed. When a roof ice-dam caused drywall damage, he arrived within an hour to inspect the damage and created a game plan to resolve and get back o schedule. All the sub-contractors were outstanding - not just the work and craftsmanship they provided, but they were polite and courteous as well. We are very, very happy with our new kitchen and would gladly recommend BBC Construction to any homeowner about to embark on a remodeling project. As a postscript to the kitchen remodel, BBC also coordinated the repair of the section of the roof where the ice dam occurred and a project to repair the walkway outside our screened-in room. His subcontractor did outstanding work.

Before any work was done, Jack showed me a computer model of what my basement would look like after it was done. It was so helpful to see the *after* before a single stud was installed. This preview, if I recall, cost about $400, (he spends a lot of time of this) but that was applied to the total bill. I paid as work progressed in stages. All bills were accurate to the penny. Jack used reliable subcontractors, such as TAK Drywall. (By happenstance, I had heard previously good things about TAK). The electrician was equally competent and reliable. During this basement remodel project, I wanted some storage area increased beneath the stairs by removing some studs and a wall. Jack was able to discern which studs had to remain because they were supporting and which could be removed. He explained why to me, which gave me confidence in his knowledge. There were little things that I never would have thought of, such as placing a vent in a certain location at the base of a new wall because there was a nearby water pipe and ambient temperature around that pipe would be important. (No problems during the -30 winter!) I would recommend BBC for any of your construction needs.

We have used Jack with BBC Construction several times on a variety of projects in our hundred-year-old home. Jack was highly recommended by several neighbors who worked with him on their own historic home renovation projects. I can not say enough good things about our experience with Jack and his crew. One of our projects was a living/dining room renovation which was quite extensive, involving entirely redoing floors, walls, and ceilings. Another project was a kitchen remodel. Jack was always professional and prompt at all times. His crew was always prompt and courteous. The work was completed on time and on budget. They did a thorough job cleaning up. We have been highly satisfied with the results and we always recommend Jack to anyone needing construction work. Highly recommended.

Our remodel was a total gut job and required plumbing, electrical, drywall, installing the cabinet, countertop, faucet, toilet, and refinishing the hardwood floor. The project was completed on time, and the quality is excellent. Jack also helped me with a couple of other issues I had. I am extremely happy with the finished product and would certainly use them again. I would highly recommend Jack to others.

Great integrity and does amazing work, does small things that make the job a lot better that you would not even think about!
