Project: Remodel a Swimming Pool
The design they came up with was excellent. They did a quality job. My back yard has challengers and the design they came up with exceeded our expectations.

**His response is a joke. FYI- the large cost was also due to correcting patio that was sinking due to bad work. You did not fix the leak at the pump. You did not show up for over a year of me asking and you only ran a new line to the descent because it was dripping. You did it wrong. Thanks for blaming us as predicted. When you change your company name 3 times, there is an issue with you as the contractor. The BBB did not agree with you.
Response by Better Pools and Spas: Hello, Adding this: the joke here is that we have a customer, who loved their pool until, they had a pipe leak, which washed out material from below an area of their deck. This pool is almost two years old and the damage did not happen until recently. Because we have not seen pictures of work performed, copies of quote from other contractor, or were given time to respond once we knew it was a major leak, we can not ascertain exactly what our responsibility was. I am always willing to help a client. Up until two weeks ago , this client had asked our firm to do a few things; 1. We ran an extra line to their water descents and added a separate valve( which the client confirms) , so they could have greater pressure for their water feature. This was done more than a year ago. 2. They had a pump which needed checking on, for it was making a noise, which with the pumps we use , is not normal. I believe the case was that the pump came from factory with a loose screw. It was taken care of. 3. We also had been out over the past year and a half to check on a couple of minor items. Now the client now says we did not ever come out.. What this negative review is about is an out of the ordinary request by them for me , without a copy of quote for work, without a description of work done, and without a picture of the damaged pipe , and without a chance to fix by using my subcontractor, to just write them a $3000 even, check. I got back with them within 30 minutes of damage notice and gave them the best advice I could. Turn off water and I will get with contractor, who installed that line. See if it is warranty work. They said they were fixing it right then. Because of their refusal to allow me to have a quote from a contractor( I have requested through the BBB and here , I believe either it was obviously freeze damage and/or they repaired themselves and just came up with this very high dollar amount. now that I do not write the check they begin this bad review. Yes , if a pipe breaks from freezing, then thaws in the late winter and spring, it will wash out the material below the deck in the area , where the leak is. Everything they describe points me to this conclusion. We still would have helped them, even if it was not warranty work. And I have never seen these repairs cost more than about $500. Thank You More below from earlier. Now a couple of weeks ago, the client sent a message requesting our firm pay them $3000. The message said they were fixing a broken pipe ( the pipe was severely cracked). I messaged back, that I would have the crew, who did the work , come out and take care of. I also, let them know that $3000 was a very high amount to pay to fix a pipe and they should not let anyone work on until we got there. This was the first time we had received a message about this problem, for in the past they had let us know they had a dripping leak at equipment, and we checked on. This leak occurring in the water feature wall right after the winter months, has a high probability of being freeze damage. We asked for the quote information for this $3000 request, as of today, 4/12/19 we have not received. we asked for pictures of the pipe and the work being performed, we have not received. We offered to work with them on this if we could go over what was done and have these records, and have stated, that we would help with any other issues. We have received no information, also, the BBB has concluded we did everything appropriate in this case. The client just wanted us to pay $3000 without given any records or given us time to act on this larger type issue. Instead we get this damaging review on a pool , which this client up until now had stated they loved and that it was beautiful.. We will still work with them in a manner which is fair and helps protect their pool. Thank you

Project: Remodel a Swimming Pool
Our advice is to prepare for the job to take longer then you expect. Very weather dependent. If you anticipate it taking longer and it doesn't, all the more pleased you will be.
Response by Better Pools and Spas: MR. Michael W [Consumer name withheld at their request], Thank you for your review. I have made sure that a photo of your pool is attached to my Home advisor account. The fireplace, waterfall, and tiered decks came out great. I appreciate you mentioning that pool building does take some time. I will continue to remind clients that patience is needed, for these pools are custom and here in Georgia the weather gives us many scheduling challenges. Again, thank you for letting me design and build your pool project.

This company is very professional! My wife and I evaluated many companies and we felt the most comfortable with these guys. The design of the pool has changed several times because they do not want ot just give us a pool. they want the best pool that fits with our landscape where we have 0 regrets. So far we are ahead of schedule, on budget (even though changes have been added) and the communication has been wonderful. To my chagrin they cannot control the weather, however, despite being the wettest summer on record they have continued to overcome and get things done.

So far so good. Still in the middle of the project, but going according to schedule. Courteous group to work with.

Project: Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool
***UPDATE**** There were many weather related delays as well as personnel issues which extended the project completion date. However, Richard worked through through them with me and I feel I have a quality product that is unique and we will enjoy for a long time. Richard is personable and was originally involved throughout the process. But since, the project has lagged and its now been four months since they first broke ground. Communication has been poor as we are still weeks away from completion. While I feel I will eventually have a uniquely designed pool, it has taken much more time than originally quoted.
Response by Better Pools and Spas: Damon , Sir, Yes your pool has taken longer than anyone planned for, and maybe we need to make our communication better. This is an area that I believe is important. We are trying to find ways to deal with the weather and the delays it causes. Hope you are enjoying your pool and spa.
