This company is very reliable and easy to work with. Justin Cook did an outstanding job on replacing the siding on both my house and garage. He found that my back deck patio had some rotten boards. He replaced several of the boards while he finished my house. I will have him replace my deck boards in the future. I have recommended him to my home owners association.

The quality of there Work*more then outstanding!, there Timley service impeccable! Boy, when they set there time to be here and completion was right on and even before! I asked for several add on s which was not part of the original contract and they DID Not blink and Eye, they went way out of there way to accommodate my requests Unbelievable ! ! There were several things about my project I was not sure about that were very important to me and they took their time to explain it to me and also added there recommendations and advice, which turned out to be Exactly how I pictured It! They even spent the time to come back the next day to add on another piece to my deck I had not previously asked for in the contract!! Like I have said Black Hills went Above & way Beyond my expectations this company and everyone of there hard working employees should be commended for the job they did for me! I would like to know that they get the Praise they have earned! I was present during the whole build of the deck. It was built with high standards. They were very dedicated to their work with a positive attitude. The weather did not hesitate their work. I was completely pleased with the looks and craftsmanship of this crew, I have received complements from all the neighbors and relatives. I will always have them back for other upcoming tasks.
Response by Black Hills Framing and Construction, LLC: Thanks Master Sargent !! We love our Veterans !!

DO NOT HIRE Aaron T. of Black Hills Framing and Construction. And do not believe any of the lies he or his company are going to write in response to this review. I hired Black Hills Framing and Construction to repair a balcony/walkable roof, the waterproofing on the surface was failing and caused a leak into the kitchen below. There were several red flags along the way that I should have been more aware of at the time but being in the middle of the rainy season with a deployed husband and two kids under 4. I just wanted the problem fixed. To jump to the end of this horrible experience we were concerned about a crack on our chimney so we hired an exterior inspector to check over the entire house to make sure there were no other sources of leaks. The first thing he asked me after he finished his inspection of the house was if my HUSBAND was the one working on the balcony?! Implying it was obvious that whoever was doing it had no idea what they were doing. The resulting inspection report validated our concerns. Key points: flashing needed to be placed behind the EIFS when against the house, the edge flashing needed to be primed or sanded prior to GACO application, the entire doorframe should have been removed and a pan added below it, everything was peeling due to inappropriate application conditions and the plywood remained wet beneath the Gaco since it was not properly dried prior which would eventually lead to rot. We immediately hired another company who during their work we found out Black Hills just covered over the original surface, despite telling us they removed it. We have been trying to get a refund from Black Hills Framing and Construction who is denying everything. They never gave us a contract to sign or a receipt for the deposit we paid which has been making things difficult, but it seems as if my 55 email long message chain and saved texts are enough to get the ball rolling, fortunately. On the first day, they removed the railings which were occasionally tossed to the ground and left scattered all over the place. They had supposedly removed the top layer of the existing deck (we found out later that was not true), replaced and patched some areas of plywood and taped the seams. At the end of the day, everything was left completely exposed, not even the slightest attempt was made to cover the new plywood surface. In the morning everything was soaked because it rained all night long and the guys swept the tape and grey uncured gaco water off the roof onto everything below. It made a mess of the windows (which we scraped ourselves) and has now permanently stained our patio furniture and white siding of our house. Then they redid everything again and at the end of the day sloppily covered the surface with tarps (using rocks from our landscaping). It rained again and water leaked in between the tarps. When the guys came back they literally tossed the rocks to the ground, swept off the water and began working. We h
Response by Black Hills Framing and Construction, LLC: The homeowner already had water damage in her home the day we arrived at the site. She was in distress from day 1 as anyone would be with water damage inside their walls. Everything that was done by Black Hills was done correctly as we have done these projects successfully before. The inspector Mrs. Danielle R. [Consumer name withheld at their request] used was contacted by Black Hills Framing and assured us that he never told Mrs. Danielle R what she is claiming he told her about us doing a poor job. Also after inspecting the job on a day to day basis I can assure you the job was left clean everyday!

It actually ended up not being a shed/barn project but a cedar fence, cedar deck with steps, and a patio cover with a tin roof. Aaron worked promptly with my HOA and the jobs were done quickly. The finished projects all look very nice. I appreciated that Aaron met with me around my busy work schedule, and ensured the work site was clean and safe for my dogs each night while projects were in progress.

A little disorganized. Suppliers not totally familiar with their products re:pricing. Overall though, the work was first rate and the finished product was superlative. Lots,of positive comments from neighbors, etc. Would use them again.
