Bloom Design, LLC

Just like this- perfect form, perfect function! Bloom Design has been partnering with design clients since 1995 in order to transform design intentions into functional interiors. Interior design is not a sugary desert. At Bloom Design we understand that well-conceived interior design is a road map to developing spaces that are beautiful, functional and appropriate. Principal designer Paul Bloom brings a modern sensibility to traditional craftsmanship. Bloom studied at Yale Architecture under Dean Charles Moore, and is the third generation of his family to work in the building trades. Our design process is extremely simple- we find that when designer and client join together to address the parameters of a project, design solutions emerge that are arresting- design solutions that promote balance in our lives. Business Overview

Community Involvement

In addition to my professional work I am involved in the New Haven community as the Director of a small non profit, the New Haven Zen Center, a local affiliation of an international organization.

And I am also actively connected with other community leaders to work together in order to make Greater New Haven a more congenial and socially integrated place to live.

How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because -sometimes parents point the way. So it was for me. My father was a structural engineer, his father a small time general contractor. I saw the path early on, but was committed to the design end of the formula. I trained as an architect at Yale under the Deanship of Charles Moore, a pioneer of late 20th century architecture. In the end I came to understand that my design interests were small scale, and have always focused on furniture and interiors, while keeping track of the bigger picture. This has always treated me well, and I have been happy to follow this path..

We started in this industry in 1971.

We describe our business as Family owned and operated

Why is this work important, for you and for others?

The good design of living and working environments is important to personal and social well-being.

Project: Interior Decorator
Very responsive and talented and a pleasure to work with.

Paul Bloom from Bloom Design designed two separate major projects. Also, a minor project was provided by Paul. One being a complete bedroom remodel for my son. Paul provided us with top quality designs. He had terrific ideas and designed an awesome study space for my teenage son as well as abundance of storage space. Another project was a remodel of mine and my husband's office. Paul's design was very well detailed, thought out and provided us with all of the best conveniences of working from home. Paul also designed a magnificent attractive entryway chair, mirror and table that is both functional and eloquent. In general, Bloom Designs will give you superior workmanship. Paul is a very attentive, polite and a respectful person to work with. I am looking forward to another project and would absolutely want to work with Paul again.
