Hire a Handyman

I would like for everyone to know that Bricell Construction Group is a very professional company. I hired them to hang a big mirror and some pictures , the quote I was given was very good. They respected my home by taking their shoes off and cleaning up behind themselves. What really stood out the most to me about them is how they really listened to me the paying customer and never forgetting the small details. I will be definitely be using them again on future home projects. Tredida

Hire a Handyman

I hired them for a small area of wood floor replacement(I had the wood), changing 2 ceiling fan light fixtures and sheetrock repair/painting. The sheet rock and electrical work was decent, but the painting was below par and I can see the spots where they painted the repaired parts of the sheetrock. The floor repair took forever and I am not sure this is their expertise. They were slow, came unprepared with necessary tools for the job and had to go get them or return the next day to do more of the work. They ended up charging me more than the contract because they needed more glue for the flooring and did not leave the unused portion that I paid for. They also left my drapes tied up in knots before they left..I guess they forgot to complete their putting things back in order. I do not recommend this company.

Dear mrs Bond. We'd like to share some explanations. We didn't buy any paint, we just used the samples you gave us to paint the spots. Removing just a portion of such hardwood glued floor is a delicate task, since you have to be careful with the surrounding good area. We estimated 10 hours and we spent 16, at no extra charge. The only extra was due to the glue we supposed you had bought with the hardwood. There was no markup or trip charge. Finally, the root cause of your water damage was a bad rain water management on your front garden. We gave technical assessment and advice to your landscaping guy for your dirt leveling, for free.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
